Republicans considering running for president over the past six years have been delivering red meat to the base at conservative confabs.
But Jeb Bush Friday did not fit the mold.
The former Florida governor, mulling a 2016 bid, followed the retiring firebrand Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) at the Faith and Freedom Coalition. But while Bachmann and the other speakers here, including Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) -- the 2012 vice-presidential nominee -- treaded familiar turf by railing against government and President Barack Obama, Bush didnt go there.
I wont be pointing out the failures of the Obama administration, Bush said to silence here. Theyre clear for those that want to see them.

NBC is just trying to muddy the water.
I’m afraid he’ll have to drop his bid for president after that insensitive “fertile” comment. Clearly the GOP needs to vet these clowns better.
Paybacks’ a bitch ain’t it Karl?
I’ve heard it would be a lot cheaper for USA to bring in all of Mexico’s senior citizens and pay for their retirement than it’s costing us now bringing in all of the illegals that are coming here.
He’s making NBC and CNN happy to have something to talk about.
Elitist

Stay outta da Bushes.
No he’s the man s boy. They’ll lap up anything he says until hes up against just their pick. You know the drill
Okay, he hasn’t been drinking and still holds views I don’t share. Thanks... LOL
Jeb Bush SOUNDS like a Racist
The base did not turn out for Romney and it won't turn out for Jeb. Good luck getting the illegals to make up the difference.
If Karl Rove gave a superb speech touting conservative values, would any conservative vote for him for president?
No, because of his previous performance. He lacks credibility based on his behavior.
Now look at Jeb Bush. He is erudite. But at the same time, he is a Bush, and we have had two example of why the Bush family should never again walk on the national stage.
The best thing Jeb Bush could do would be to limit his activities to electing Republican candidates who win primaries. It should not matter what kind of Republican they are. If they won the primary, and will face a Democrat, support them. Beyond that, nothing.
"This perfectly illustrates what I call a "dysron"--one who functions at the analytic level of a moron, because of an ideological or neurotic conditioning (fear & compulsion driven), that leaves an otherwise normal IQ level, dysfunctional.
"What Jeb is describing is replacing his own people, in the land of their fathers, for a temporary economic benefit! Those who risked everything to create the America that he & other dysrons are destroying, must be rolling in their graves.
"My forebears did not arrive until the 19th Century, but I understand my sworn duty to uphold the America that our founders created. What I offered in 2006 as a rebuttal to his brother, applies equally to Jeb Bush: Answer To President Bush On Immigration.
"If this be not Treason, it is at least its second cousin."

I thought it was a great talk. We’ve got to start offering a program, and this was business friendly and positive. And his comment about “fertile” sure freaked out the libs! From Margaret Sanger on down, they’ve never liked what they referred to as “those little brown people.”
He was a good governor for Florida. My only reservation about him as a presidential candidate is that he’s not aggressive enough. All the Bush boys were brought up to be “gentlemen,” but the problem is that in contemporary politics, unless you get a little ungentlemanly every now and then, people lose interest in you and begin to write you off. That was one of GWB’s big problems. Job is more outgoing, but I’m still not sure he’s aggressive enough.
“THIS IS WHO WE... THE LEFTARD COMMIE MEDIA... WANT TO HAVE RUN AGAINST QUEEN HILlARY”
You are incorrect as are most Catholics who do not consult their founding documents one simply cannot make up the rules of the church nor ascribe to it what they think it is about
The fact is that the catechism clearly states, regardless of any archbishop ignores, that the church is not to pose its will into politics, it is not Togo against a country’s laws and it is never to impose itself onto illegal immigration as By so doing it will deplete the nation of integrity and resources rendering it to asstst it’s own as well as foreign people
Look it up
I don’t even think it is intended that he win. Jeb would be there to play the role of John McCain in the 2016 election soap opera.
Where is Jeb Bush’s first loyalty? Church then family, then country. What Rome calls for Jeb will enforce. And Rome does not give one wit about US citizenship. We are rich and we are required to be charitable. The plate is just been enlarged and getting ready to be passed. They call it social justice.
.........
Jeb’s first loyalty is to his family.
That means he straddles the border—like his brother.
Some of us did show up and vote for romney... we puked up in our mouths when we did it but we did vote. I will NEVER vote for another Bush.
LLS
Lol, just what I was looking for to get an objective take on Jebbie’s speech: a write-up from NBC by someone with a Latino name.
hahahahahahahahahahahaha
NO
And we all know that NBC is so interested in helping the Republican Party choose a winning nominee......NOT!
Yes because we’ll be able to tax Carlos Slim and set our LEO on their drug dealers.
Jeb, listen to your mother.
Strange request to look up something. What is the purpose of all these demands from Rome about illegal invasion? I think politics has a pretty good reflection as to what is acceptable by Catholic politicians. Remember Stupak? Biden? Pelouise? etc? Why is it reality is totally ignored?
Jeb Bush = FAIL.
And that’s being generous. Enough damage was done by the first two “compassionate conservatives.” We can’t handle a third loser from this blighted family.
I voted but i agree. If thats where we go then those in power in that party need to lose so badly that we have new leadership.
Great! Just what we need - more compassionate conservatism, or is it “a kinder, gentler nation?” /sarc
I hear Lyndsey Graham's the bee's knees.
Their only backs they have is their own.
It may not have always been that way, but America sure showed us what "The land of the free" really meant!
The question is - will he have the guts to point out Hillary’s faults?
I don't think they care about their conservative base anymore. I think they're all about wooing middle of the road liberals from the RAT party as well as the crimigrant vote.
How does the push and shove for US to take on an invasion of illegals help his family? How many children does Jeb have? No this is a religious loyalty his brother called 'compassionate conservatism'.
A winning strategy so far, eh?
This is the kind of gassy commentary about Jeb you’d expect to hear from a guy named Domenico Montanaro.
They are not coming from Rome
If you want to make a statement claimed as fact any thinking person would request that you do a little research
But Rome is not directly instructing our government. Prove it if that’s wrong
And the catechism which does instruct carholics actually instructs them to rebuke illegal immigrants and abide by the law
Anyone not underrstanding this is as wrong as any enatorial pushing for this travesty
“More intact families?”
And Hispanic-owned businesses employ less than 2% of the American workforce even though Hispanics comprise more than 12% of the American population.
Any senator
Yes... if the gop/e runs a progressive, it will be time to show them how small they are without the base. Either way we lose but I expect my direct enemies (commiecrats) to try to destroy me... those that pretend to represent me but work in alliance with my enemies to destroy me... (the republican leadership)... deserve destruction themselves.

Tens of millions of black abortions plus tens of millions of “fertile” Latinos imported. The African-American is being dumped and replaced in the largest demographic shift in human history.
Pope Benedict XVI reiterated the Catholic church's position on immigration, saying that nations have the right to regulate the flow of migrants and secure their borders. His comment is consistent with what the church has said in the past, but contradicts the position of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. In his statement, Pope Benedict XVI said individuals have the right to leave their country, but that doesn't mean that nations have to take them in.
At the same time, states have the right to regulate migration flows and to defend their own frontiers, always guaranteeing the respect due to the dignity of each and every human person, Pope Benedict XVI said.
I did not say Rome directly instructs our government. Rome does influence our government by the sheer number of elected and appointed Catholics within government.

Both the political leaders in WDC seem not to hide the relationship that means most to some.
I think Jeb is a moderate liberal, and he will sell anything to the progressive movement for the promise of personal fortune and opportunity.
So who is in charge? Saying one thing yet ignoring the very obvious seems more than a bit disingenuous at the very least.
We need a Photoshop update to this:
Once they get over here with all the free birth control and abortions they will not be so fertile any longer. When women have access to birth control they simply do not have as many children. It is too difficult to care for so many in an industrial society.
Sinners, the corrupt, and saints: Pope Francis focused on these three groups in his homily for Mass Monday morning in at the Casa Santa Marta. The Pope said the corrupt do great harm to the Church because they are worshipers of themselves; the saints, on the other hand, do great good, they are lights in the Church.

Unfortunately some bishops (those who disregard Church teaching in regard to this and other matters) apparently fall into the "corrupt" category.
deport Jeb along with his mexican old lady!
