Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) delivered her case Friday against the comprehensive immigration reform proposal, saying it would cost $6 trillion and particularly harm blacks and Hispanics.

“What I’m asking all of us to consider are the profound implications of what this will mean, because amnesty will cost a fortune,” Bachmann said at the Road to Majority Conference in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Faith & Freedom Coalition. “We’re looking at a $6 trillion cost for amnesty. Just the retirement benefits alone for illegal aliens—which must be born by the American people—is something like $2.7 trillion.”

The Congressional Budget Office has yet to estimate how much the immigration reform bill would cost, but the Heritage Foundation estimates it at $6.3 trillion. …

The behavior of the senate on this issue has shown that there is absolutely no point in even allowing it to reach the floor of the house.

But don’t we need the illegals to be able to afford to pay for the border fence? ;)

There will come a day, very soon, when we’ll look longly at only trillion dollar deficits and wonder how we can get back there.

I am absolutely convinced this bill is a smoke screen to distract from the Billions in Drugs comming across the border. That is why no border security. Fast and Furious, everything to do with this, is Drug Money driven. Dirty Big Secret nobody will touch.

The poor can apply for benefits. The rich can build gated communities. The people who are going to be really hurt by amnesty are those who are trying to work themselves out of poverty. They’ll have a harder time trying to find work, and when they do, the wages will be depressed.

What SHOULD be done? How about a massive reduction in the social welfare state. Far too many people are getting far too much for doing basically nothing for this country. Cut ‘em off and make ‘em earn a living like the rest of us. Then we won’t need to import millions of indentured slaves from third world countries.

rant off...

just think, if this amnesty / welfare / democrat voter expansion bill becomes law then the United States of America will then become like the corrupt sh!t hole to the south of us and that should stop anyone from wanting to immigrate to the US. Yes that should take a few years to achieve but at the rate the obozo hussein is destroying this country from the inside, the sh!t hole status is fast approaching.

The amnesty is the final straw to break our culture and way of life. What they want is an Elite-Royalty Ruling Class, a Bureaucracy-Government Worker Enforcer Class and finally, the Serf Class.

I was just listening to some lady on talk radio (didn’t get her name) who has read this bill. You would not believe the crap that is in it. It outsources a lot of the ‘duties’ in it to community groups (la Raza) instead of to government employees. They will get government money to perform those duties.
It is fricken outrageous and anyone who votes for this crap should be strung up, not just voted out since that no longer works, strung up!

Find it strange when the excuse is being given that while the government knows whats going on in 300 million citizens lives but because the illegals are not citizens the US doesn’t know who they are or where they’re comming from so we must make them citizens..

In that May 3rd speech Obama gave before the Mexican Anthropological Museum in which he blamed America for the violence in Mexico I believe he went even futhur. There’s a inference but never referenced by name to the Gasden purchase and border settlements US made with Mexico where Obama hinted he seems to side with the Mexican claims. Would those in attendence share that view is a question that should be asked, because I believe they would,.he does.

The Mexicans have been getting most favorable treatment above the rest of our neighbors both north and south. They’re permitted to cross our borders and enter illegally and are allowed access to rights of citizenship (with the exception of voting which if the democrat party regains control over the House will happen) other nationals entering this country don’t get.

Also by allowing Mexicans to do this any quota ration for immigration from other south and central American countrys are taken up by Mexicans while that country is laying claim to a large chunk of our sovereign territory.

We are already seeing the result of this in certain areas claimed by the Mexicans. Their national flag (standard) gets displayed over ours. Where there is a controlling number of Mexican nationals (illegals). It’s displayed over certain institutions particularly schools accompanied by riots and disturbances. Blacks are threatend by Mexicans in certain sections of citys in those areas. We’re courting trouble by not placing a value on our sovereignty and our citizenship.

Worse yet if a US citizen goes into Mexico never mind illegaly but legally. They’ll get 2nd class treatment. Land ownership in title is prohibited period. And there are a slew of regulations they must comply with. Which doesn’t apply to a citizen of Mexico.

By not insisting on reciprocity particularly on those who have entered this country illegally we’re offering no incentive for assimilation and we’re not easing the burden for our fellow citizens who for what ever reason decided to live in Mexico.

Perhaps we can force the ones we catch to work on building the fence. If some refuse, they can become part of the cement foundation. I'd wager that if we implemented it, it might not be too long when we didn't need a fence - just lots of concrete and some shallow ditches...

I think we’ve pretty much ceded the Gadsden Purchase back to the Mexican cartels, anyway...

...saying it would cost $6 trillion and particularly harm blacks and Hispanics.

??

So, blacks and Hispanics dump more tax dollars down the government toilet than whites do?
What on earth is Bachmann talking about?

/confused headscratch
