My question is what is the matter with the 58% of Republicans who approve of Christie, after consorting with Obama and Bill Clinton.

Is he going to be set up to be the Republican nominee, to make sure Hillary wins in 2016?

Stop calling them "social conservatives." They are just conservatives. The definition doesn't shift over time. That's the very essence of conservatism.

A good many conservatives are just as aware as your average democrat.

True. I’ve found that fiscal conservatives are seldom able to resist socialist impulses with no socially conservative anchor.

More like Hillary (D) vs Christie (pretend R) in 2016 — which of course will ensure President Hillary for the next 8 years.
After 8 years of Obama and 8 years of Hillary there isn’t going to be a USA left, as we know it...

You’re not calling him a boat anchor are you? Actually he’s like a boat with no compass. He’s just a guy who is tight with money and has no real moral principles.

No, he’s a full on liberal. I’m simply stating that there is no such thing as a fiscal conservative. Its the whole package or not at all.

exactly... i liked him as much as i could like a liberal Republican.. i liked what he said when he campaigned for Romney in Virginia... but since
Sandy and the months that followed, i am done with him... he can do nothing to bring me to support him... he is a pig, imo...

But his absence was a sore point for many conservative activists... I sincerely doubt that. In fact, I bet his absence was a relief.
To: cripplecreek
I agree with you. I think there are a number of freepers here who might disagree. But I agree with you completely. The guy who says he’s fiscally conservative but not concerned with the moral issues that plague our country.... is just a guy who is tight with his money. In my opinion.
