Cold-Case Murders of 4 Females Brought Back to Life by New Images, DNA Tests
CNN ^ | Sat June 15, 2013 | Phil Gast

The woman was related to at least two of the three children.

Was she their doting mother? An adoring aunt? Or, given her relative youth, perhaps a much older sister?

"That leaves you with so many possibilities," says New Hampshire State Police Sgt. Joe Ebert.

All four females are long dead, their bodies crammed into two 55-gallon barrels, the first barrel discovered by a hunter in 1985, the other 15 years later. They have never been identified.

Now, there's a new push to solve a cold case that has stymied determined investigators.

I wonder if this is a case of a kidnapping, and then children born to that woman. Would help to explain how 4 females could go missing, and no seemed to notice.

My thought is that this was a domestic incident that occurred out-of-state. The child not related to the woman is the child of the man that killed the four.

How long had the mother and child been dead when the first barrel was discovered in 1985? If the woman died a year prior to discovery, she would have been 52 to 62 now. Her parents would probably be in their seventies or eighties if still alive. If the victims died 15 years earlier, the woman would have been in her sixties or seventies now. The potential of friends or close relatives of the woman being around to recognize her reconstructed face greatly diminishes the further back in time the date of the murder occurred.

I seem to recall a post here at FReepers about an artist who can take DNA sample and come up with a face that is very close without having seen the person that the sample came from.

I keep thinking that, given the improvements in DNA technology, including the ability to identify relatives; and the constant increase in the size of the DNA database...in another 25 years you may be able to just plug in a DNA sample and the computer will respond with a name and address and you won’t even need a sample for comparison.

Apparently these children were born and are unrecorded — I’ve seen this in human/sex trafficking - could have been cult related...time of year, if known, may narrow down certain sacrifices conducted during that time. If these are the ones no one ever travels...the lack of dental hygiene is relevant to being held captive and possible on going abuse.

Peace be upon their souls

Not funny, these were young women abused and murdered.
