LINDSEY GRAHAM: Republicans Are In A 'Demographic Death Spiral,'
Business Insider ^ | 06/16/2013 | Brett Logiurato

Posted on 06/16/2013 1:41:10 PM PDT by Carbonsteel

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is bullish about the chances of an immigration reform bill passing the Senate — and he says Republicans need to pass it to avoid falling further into a "demographic death spiral" that could hurt their chances in the next two big election cycles.

"If we don't pass immigration reform, if we don't get it off the table in a reasonable, practical way, it doesn't matter who you run in 2016," Graham said on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday.

Lindsey Graham is the biggest RINO of them all and a progressive through and through.

If he thinks Hispanics will switch over to the GOP simply because a few Republicans helped push through this travesty of a bill....he's the dumbest Republican on the planet and that's saying a lot.

Republicans are losing power because they keep moving to the left and their answer is to move even further to the left!!

Spineless and dumb as a post.

When the democrats tell you that you’re hurting yourself, do the exact opposite of what they advise.

Make no mistake, Graham is a democrat.

Someone should explain to Senator Lindsey that you're never going to increase your chances of winning by increasing a population that will never give you a majority.

But you do increase your chances of losing because (1) the new constituency opposes you and (2) constitutional conservatives will stay home.

Huh.

Force abortion-on-demand and morning-after pills down our throats, then say "Look... you guys aren't having any babies! We need to import foreign welfare recipients because they have babies!"

It's almost like they planned it that way.

I don’t see us retaking the White House anytime soon. With that being said I don’t see any reason to pass this vile piece of immigration dung and make it even longer before we take back to the Maison Blanche. For the first time in history more whites are dying than being born in the USA. I’m not too sure we will ever be what we once were.

Despite Jeb's idiotic comment about mexican fertility there's a real reason illegals have more children. There is no downside in it for them. More children just means more freebies for them. On the other hand, Americans have to support all those illegal children and can't afford more of their own. The same thing is going on in Europe.

Illegals are the human cuckoo bird.

Hate to tell you Lindsey,Its America which has been in a Death Spiral for decades,I couldnt care less about the Damn Stupid Republican or Democrat party.
It started when the immigration Quotas were changed in 1965,The whale from Massachussetts said it would not change the demographics of the Country, anyone at the timw who said it would were called Racists and worse as is the case today.
So the demise has been long in coming and has been relentless, anti american individuals with all the best College educations have lulled people into a Nice comfortable place ,we are now ripe for the picking, were just playing out the string.

I want it more than you do.

But this is all about his war chest and his donors. He's got Duke Power, all the lawyers, energy companies from all over the country. He's got big money. And the SC GOP is scared witless of him. He will probably have the Koch bros.

I was hoping trey Gowdy might consider running against him.

He CAN’T be stupid enough to think amnesty is a good idea so he must be evil. This is not hard to figure out. What is hard to figure out is what we can do to get even - forget getting America back that’s over that ship has sailed. Now we have to think primary for evil people like this and mean it. I’ll gladly spend a few weeks in South Carolina helping out.

Slow path to progress for U.S. immigrants: 43% on welfare after 20 years

The study, which covers all immigrants, legal and illegal, and their U.S.-born children younger than 18, found that immigrants tend to make economic progress by most measures the longer they live in the U.S. but lag well behind native-born Americans on factors such as poverty, health insurance coverage and homeownership.

The study, based on 2010 and 2011 census data, found that 43 percent of immigrants who have been in the U.S. at least 20 years were using welfare benefits, a rate that is nearly twice as high as native-born Americans and nearly 50 percent higher than recent immigrants.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/aug/8/slow-path-to-progress-for-us-immigrants/

so more amnesty from republicans helps our country how again, Goober G?

A while back, we needed amnesty to save Social Security.

Jeb: We need amnesty because illegals are fertile and are the only ones capable of developing new businesses.

Rubio: We need amnesty so illegals can pay for border security.

Graham: We need amnesty so the GOP can win the presidency in 2016.

==

Of course, they deny that amnesty is amnesty and they keep trying to fancy it up. It was regularization a while back. Now it is legalization.

No matter what they call it, it is still amnesty.

==

Graham is more of what is wrong with the current GOP than what is right with it.

So, LG states that if we don’t pass legislation forgiving illegals and making them regular voting and service-receiving citizens, the R party won’t win the Presidency in 2016. Well, that is a rather odd prediction—wouldn’t it be more logical, given the history of the 1986 amnesty, that if this 2013 legislation is passed, the R party won’t win the Presidency in 2016 or ever again? Generally speaking, if you are digging your party a hole based on failed immigration legislation in 1965 and 1987, it might be a good idea to first stop digging. Stop paying people to enter the US illegally, stop allowing people to enter the US illegally, stop forgiving and rewarding people for criminal behavior. As for immigration reform, alter the policies so people who strive to succeed, learn the value of the free and Constitutional US system, and who have the ability to be a net positive to the US are those who are exclusively eligible to join the US citizenry. Otherwise, the R party at a minimum is no longer viable at the national level and will fairly quickly fade at the state level.
I honestly believe it is better to join and pressure the Dem party to pursue rational policies at this point than trying to communicate with the R party—they seem hopelessly unable to look at demographic trends and either seek to change them or adapt to them in a winning way. As it is going, the R party is rejecting their traditional core voters—the hard working, sane values Americans who created a great nation out of a wilderness, and are falling all over themselves to make idiotic gestures toward voters who will never vote for R’s and are not even legal voters yet. Note that the Dem party never rejects core voters no matter how irrational and un-American those voters; the Dems even strive to be more goofy—but with R help, the Dems will take the greatest nation on earth and remodel it to look like an old-style South American dictatorship.

On what evidence does LG base his beliefs? Is that evidence of success so certain that he is willing to take the downside risk of a socialist, impoverished US with one-party rule?

My father was an American born Hispanic. My mother is Anglo Saxon - typical WASP. Now why would I want my country ruined to import lower echelon hoards from my father’s ancestor’s country??? Answer - I DON’T.

Can’t figure out why the GOP can’t make the case that amnesty isn’t good for any American whatever their ancestry.

Rick Snyder likes to promote the fantasy of immigrants starting businesses too. He likes to point to Henry Dow who started Dow Chemicals as an immigrant success story. The problem is that it wasn’t quite as simple as a starry eyed immigrant making millions in his first year.

The real story is that Dow was born to American parents in Canada and moved here six weeks after Henry’s birth. Dow’s father then invented some sort of steam engine that the Navy bought so I doubt they were destitute.

Long story short, Dow was here for nearly 30 years before founding his company in 1895. He and his family paid their own way and Dow didn’t face nearly the taxation and regulation we face today as he started his company.
