WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans' hopes to reclaim the White House in the 2016 elections hinge on whether they support — or sabotage — the immigration overhaul being debated in the Senate, two lawmakers who helped write the proposal warn.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on Sunday told conservatives who are trying to block the measure that they will doom the party and all but guarantee a Democrat will remain in the White House after 2016's election. Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., went a step further and predicted "there'll never be a road to the White House for the Republican Party" if immigration overhaul fails to pass.

"I would tell my Republican colleagues, both in the House and the Senate, that the road to the White House comes through a road with a pathway to legalization," Menendez said. "Without it, there'll never be a road to the White House for the Republican Party."

I keep saying that Republicans are spineless and dumb as a post these days.

They honestly expect us to believe that Hispanics will support Republicans if we pass this travesty?

Do they really believe that the future of the GOP hinges on moving the party further to the left to attract progressive voters will help put Republicans back in power?

Dumb as a post!!!!!

It’s so good of my senator to advise the Republicans on how to re-capture the presidency in 2016.

If Republicans pass the immigration bill they may get a few Hispanic votes, but how many Conservative votes will they lose? Besides mine.

I am fed up with the Republican Party.

"Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., went a step further and predicted "there'll never be a road to the White House for the Republican Party" if immigration overhaul fails to pass. "

And Graham buys this -- because Democrats always look out for the best interests of the Republican Party? Pardon me, but there must be something in the DC water supply that turns Republican politicians into idiots.

Lindsey, McCain and the other Schumer Republicans. I'm really surprised that the commie 'RAT, Menendez, is so concerned that a Republican may never be elected again to the White Outhouse if they don't flood America with Mexicans. That's weird.

Lindsey is a democrat and his “advice” should be given the same consideration as if it came from Nancy Pelosi.

He hasn’t looked at the numbers. Obama’s vote fell by 3.5 million from ‘08 to ‘12 , despite already providing the biggest give away in the grab bag ( Obamacare). (Romney, absolutely clueless, looks at exit polls and decides that Obamacare was more popular than he had thought— when it drove people away from voting by the millions??)The percentage of the voting age population casting ballots skidded from close to 60 to close to 50. The GOP needs to campaign on ideas and principles, not demographics.

A more untrue statement has not been uttered in the history of mankind. If you look at the numbers, Hispanic voting for Republicans went DOWN after Reagan signed amnesty.

Hispanics will NOT vote for Republicans unless and until they become the party of Santa Claus (which would remove the last tiny differentiator from the dims).

Amnesty is amnesty. Hispanics will NOT even bother to follow the steps towards citizenship. But they will vote anyway when they think they won’t be deported for it.

These dumb-ass pubbies and their immigration bill is nauseating. Imagine Sen. Menendez advising the pubs on the path to the WH and the pubbie lemmings following that advice. This will kill the GOP, it is time for a third party!!

This from the under age hooker king. I can’t say Graham is this stupid so I have to say he is evil.

Even if hispanics were to vote Republican, this whole thing shows us how they are willing to screw the country(us) to maintain/enhance their own power and positions.

The Talking Points are out: Republlicans wil CAVE to Pass the Immigration reform, and the handout-parasite votes of Blacks AND the new Illegal Voters will in NO WAY vote for a Republican, anyway.....and Republicans are Democrats in all but the (R) in front of their name. Buying votes with taxpayer money to keep themselves employed is the goal of ALL politicians, (D) and (R).

There is NO WAY Taxpayers will not CONTINUE to fund vote-buying schemes, and expansion of the Government. The U.S. Constitution means NOTHING anymore.
