Investigators plan to dig up an Oakland County field Monday in hopes of discovering the remains of Jimmy Hoffa, an FBI spokesperson confirms to FOX 2.
Monday's dig comes after aging mobster Tony Zerilli said earlier this year that Hoffa's body was buried in the northern Oakland Township field, about 20 miles north of the restaurant where he was last seen in July 1975.

The Mafia involved with unions? #shockedface
I think Jimmy's working w/ Elvis at a 7-11 in New Hampshire, somewhere. Fuggedaboutit!
I was told by the son of a national union official that Hoffa was cut into pieces and placed in abandoned mines in PA...
$$$ are dwindling in Michigan but there is money for this crap, amazing
Actually Michigan has a growing budget surplus but this is federal money anyway.
What is this costing the tax payers? Who’s paying for it? Why does anybody care where the body is?
———somewhere under Giant’s Stadium-——
There is no Hoffa body there. I personnaly saw the Myth Busters survey the entire field using ground penetrating radar. There was special attention to the endzone said too be the spot most likely.
They came all the way to the Meadowlands from California. They found nothing.
By the way, in about 1982, while visiting Detroit, my vendor took me to the restaurant from which Hoffa is said to have disappeared. I found no trace of the man there on there.
We’re all paying for it and its a waste of time and money.
Buried in thousands of piles of dog poop, after his trip to the rendering plant and conversion into dog food.
Where does it say Michigan is dealing with this? It’s the U.S. attorney who is mentioned. Would a kidnapping be a Federal crime?
People have been interpreting that wrongly for years. He's buried in the S.F. Giant's stadium. He's in Candlestick Park!
It’s a joke, for everyone who lives in Joisey (lived there 17yrs) and in NYC (worked there 17yrs), but anyone with a brain knows he ain’t *there*. He’ll never be found and ID’d, I’d bet.
Mythbusters went to Giants Stadium shortly before it was torn down. They went over every square inch of the place with ground penetrating radar. No sign of Hoffa.
I know. It was a joke.
LOL. He sleeps with the fishes, somewhere, but who knows where?
thats for sure, I live in Michigan and know the restaurant they took him from...he is under some interstate someplace or got crushed in the trunk of a car from a company owned by some teamster (or goon) that crush cars....
Funny in a strange and sick way!
He’s buried in Michigan, likely no more than 100 miles from where he disappeared. There’s no point in taking the risk of transporting a body hundreds of miles when there are plenty of places to get rid of it right here.
He could be at the bottom of one of the great lakes or any of the hundreds of smaller lakes in Michigan. Buried in a swamp, in the woods, or under a farm.
What difference does it make at this point in time anyway?
You are right of course
If that’s the new giants stadium, wouldn’t Hoffa now be somewhere in the parking lot to the west?...the entire stadium having been demolished and hauled off, with no sign of Hoffa.
I heard rumor that he was dropped into molten steel and became a car bumper.
FYI, Giants Stadium was demolished a few years ago, replaced by the new MetLife Stadium adjacent to the former Giants Stadium site.
They’ll never find his carcass. The guys who offed him were thorough, as usual.
"I want my daddy's records."
How many tax dollars have been wasted on finding him?
There were lots of rendering plants in Detroit when Jimmy was whacked. I know because I practiced law there at the time and represented one. Never was I so impressed as when they described how they’d take a whole animal’s carcass and reduce it to nothing but mush and cracklings that would then go into dog food. Hard to find an easier, more complete way to dispose of a body, especially if just one of those plants was under the influence of a Mafia associate.
Wow! What a startling revelation!
I worked at a very large Detroit area Catering firm with a great reputation when established and run by a Jewish businessman in 1975. This guy sold the business to the Mob at around that time, maybe 1974 or so.
When Hoffa disappeared the FBI paid us a visit to inspect our enormous carton-crushing trash compactor.
You could literally toss 5 bodies in there, no problem.
The firm had been bought out by the local Detroit area mob-family named Giacalone (pronounced “Jackaloney”).
All of our produce had to be bought directly from this family It was a high class establishment but I knew who was running the show so when the FBI came, I figured the Giacalone family (Tony, Vito and Tony-Jack) had a hand in his disappearance. I never looked at that trash compactor in the same way again...gulp*
The Ford Rouge Plant’s smelting and foundry operations weren’t very far from the Machus Red Fox restaurant (approx. 25 miles)...Maybe they tossed what was left of him into the mix during the night shift.
They took it down in 2010, after the new one was built:
The CNN article is full of “Hoffa urban legends’.
Why? Even if they find what's left of Hoffa, the people who killed him are probably dead.
It's a waste of money.
I got an idea. Why not spend that money on finding out who gave the IRS orders to violate people's civil rights.
Hint to the FBI. Valerie Jarrett.
“Feds to search for Jimmy Hoffa’s remains in Oakland Twp. field...”
“Why? Even if they find what’s left of Hoffa, the people who killed him are probably dead.”
Could it be that yet another search for Jimmy Hoffa is being used to divert the attention of authorities and media away from something else?
We used to ride horses all around that stretch of Adams. I sure don’t remember any out of the ordinary smells.
Yeah, like dead rat smell?
You didn’t know it’s the job of the police to investigate crimes?
