Investigators plan to dig up an Oakland County field Monday in hopes of discovering the remains of Jimmy Hoffa, an FBI spokesperson confirms to FOX 2.

Monday's dig comes after aging mobster Tony Zerilli said earlier this year that Hoffa's body was buried in the northern Oakland Township field, about 20 miles north of the restaurant where he was last seen in July 1975.

He’s buried in Michigan, likely no more than 100 miles from where he disappeared. There’s no point in taking the risk of transporting a body hundreds of miles when there are plenty of places to get rid of it right here.

He could be at the bottom of one of the great lakes or any of the hundreds of smaller lakes in Michigan. Buried in a swamp, in the woods, or under a farm.

If that’s the new giants stadium, wouldn’t Hoffa now be somewhere in the parking lot to the west?...the entire stadium having been demolished and hauled off, with no sign of Hoffa.

I heard rumor that he was dropped into molten steel and became a car bumper.

FYI, Giants Stadium was demolished a few years ago, replaced by the new MetLife Stadium adjacent to the former Giants Stadium site.

They’ll never find his carcass. The guys who offed him were thorough, as usual.

Why does anybody care where the body is?

How many tax dollars have been wasted on finding him?

There were lots of rendering plants in Detroit when Jimmy was whacked. I know because I practiced law there at the time and represented one. Never was I so impressed as when they described how they’d take a whole animal’s carcass and reduce it to nothing but mush and cracklings that would then go into dog food. Hard to find an easier, more complete way to dispose of a body, especially if just one of those plants was under the influence of a Mafia associate.

"Organized crime was involved in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa," Corbett said.

Wow! What a startling revelation!

Still looking for his remains? Why?

I worked at a very large Detroit area Catering firm with a great reputation when established and run by a Jewish businessman in 1975. This guy sold the business to the Mob at around that time, maybe 1974 or so.

When Hoffa disappeared the FBI paid us a visit to inspect our enormous carton-crushing trash compactor.
You could literally toss 5 bodies in there, no problem.

The firm had been bought out by the local Detroit area mob-family named Giacalone (pronounced “Jackaloney”).
All of our produce had to be bought directly from this family It was a high class establishment but I knew who was running the show so when the FBI came, I figured the Giacalone family (Tony, Vito and Tony-Jack) had a hand in his disappearance. I never looked at that trash compactor in the same way again...gulp*

The Ford Rouge Plant’s smelting and foundry operations weren’t very far from the Machus Red Fox restaurant (approx. 25 miles)...Maybe they tossed what was left of him into the mix during the night shift.

They took it down in 2010, after the new one was built:

The CNN article is full of “Hoffa urban legends’.
