Israeli government sources claim Francis is apparently thinking of calling a meeting between leaders and faithful of the worlds three biggest monotheistic religions, in Rome, to launch a message of peace, countering violence and the use of Gods name to justify hatred and terrorist acts. The sources say the Pope announced his intention to call a meeting, during an Audience last 30 April. But there was no mention of this in the communiqué the Holy Sees issued after the Audience.
President Peres told the Pope that there are people who use Gods name to justify terrorism and religious leaders should say out loud that God did not give anyone permission to kill their neighbour. According to the information contained in a summary of the Audience received by the Israeli government, Francis told Peres he whole-heartedly supported his appeal against violence and that he wanted to promote a meeting between religious leaders and faithful of the three major religions founded by Abraham, in Rome. The aim would be to make people see that the religions oppose violence and terrorism.
The President of the International Council of Christians and Jews (Iccj), Rabbi David Rosen, has asked the Pope to help leaders of the Jewish and Muslim religions to promote an initiative for peace in the Holy Land. Speaking to a group of Italian journalists, Rosen suggested the Pope convene a meeting between the Holy Lands religious leaders, in Jerusalem, to pray for peace in the region. 2015 could be a perfect time to do this as it will mark the fiftieth anniversary of the promulgation of Nostra Aetate, the Second Vatican Council declaration on the Relation of the Church with Non-Christian Religions. The Rabbi said an initiative like this was important as it would boost political efforts to resolve conflicts....

Nostra Aetate - Summary
"Part three goes on to say that the Catholic Church regards the Muslims with esteem, and then continues by describing some of the things Islam has in common with Christianity and Catholicism: worship of One God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, Merciful and Omnipotent, Who has spoken to men; the Muslims' respect for Abraham and Mary, and the great respect they have for Jesus, whom they consider to be a Prophet and not God. The synod urged all Catholics and Muslims to forget the hostilities and differences of the past and to work together for mutual understanding and benefit."

"As religious leaders of different faiths, who share the conviction in the one Creator, Lord of the Universe; we believe that the essence of religion is to worship G-d and respect the life and dignity of all human beings, regardless of religion, nationality and gender. We accordingly commit ourselves to use our positions and good offices, to advance these sacred values, to prevent religion from being used as a source of conflict, and to promote mutual respect, a just and comprehensive peace and reconciliation between people of all faiths in the Holy Land and worldwide."

Why moslems but no Buddhists?
The timing for the One World Religion seems about right with the imminent Psalm 83 War approaching. The prophesies of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelations are falling right in line. Maranatha.
Lots o’ luck. Don’t forget that St Francis went and tried to convert the Grand Muslim Whatever, who was so stunned by this that he actually didn’t even try to cut off Francis’ head.
There was a rumor that the man later secretly converted, but if he did so, it obviously had no effect on his lunatic co-religionists.
I really hope he doesn’t do this. What is there to gain?
Anyone who is of ANY faith is there because that is what they believe. They believe that is the one true way or they wouldn’t even be there.
What business does anyone of ANY faith have getting together with any others who don’t believe the same things they believe? The only thing they should be discussing is evangelism, converting them. You simply cannot go on pretending that all faiths are equal, especially if you’re the Pope.
Why Jews are one of the “World’s Major Religions,” with an estimated 0.2 % of the world’s population, is a matter of (ludicrously prejudicial) definition to a guy who came to Buddhism by way of Hinduism, both of which, BTW are also more ancient than either Christianity or Islam.
You cannot make peace with Islam, its not worth the effort.
“I really hope he doesnt do this.”
I’m with you.
We control the Illuminati....who underwrite these conferences... If you want me to plug Buddhism to them send me a private reply.
Are you serious?? It’s because Buddhism isn’t monotheistic (no?)
Could be. There will always be true uncompromised Catholics, however, although we may be underground.
I wasn’t aware that there was a conflict between the worlds religions.
It seems that the ONLY conflict is that muslums want to kill all of the other world religions.
God bless our new Pope, but why can’t people see that these devils love this crap. They will smile politely, agree to whatever, and plan to stab you in the back once they see your weakness.
What a fatuous idea!
Maybe the muzlims will convert him...Maybe they already have...
This is the 2 wolves inviting the sheep for supper...The one thing the Catholic religion and the Izlamaniacs have in common is that they both want the Jews out of Isreal...
no need for 2 rop
Why no Hindus?
The world’s three major religions? There are more Sikhs in the world than Jews.
Christians, Muslims, Hindus would be the big three by number of adherents.
well if so then this pope will lead to the destruction of both Israel and Christendom.....too bad he doesn’t understand that muslims do not want peace
Is that really true?
