RE: For someone who merely wanted to say that if forced to in 2016, you will vote for Santorum, you sure post a lot of long argumentative posts to say it.

My argument is in response to your insinuation that just because Santorum supported Specter (out of gratitude for the later’s solid support of him when he was running for Senate ), he is not really a strong pro-life individual.

My argument is HE IS. By word, deed and actions.

As for his “becoming” pro-life out of convenience, hey, YOU have to prove that. Every single action he took while in Senate shows that he is a STRONG advocate and fighter for the unborn ( including his magnificent fight to make partial birth abortion illegal ). See here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQrbLXxpCdU

You don’t have to repeat ad nauseum his defeat in 2016. You don’t have to tell me something I don’t already know.

And if 2016 for some reason makes Santorum the GOP candidate, I say without hesitation, Santorum 2016.

Santorum admits that he switched to pro-life while preparing for his first campaign.

Your justifying Santorum’s slavish, undying devotion and support for Specter and his campaign to turn the GOP pro-abortion and continuing up to 2010 until the MAN BECAME A DEMOCRAT, just because Specter supported his Senate candidacy, is rather astounding.

RE: Santorum admits that he switched to pro-life while preparing for his first campaign.

I don;t care what he admitted, I care WHAT HE DID SINCE then until now. Nothing he has done since being elected has proven your point.

Voted YES on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions. (Jul 2006)

Voted NO on $100M to reduce teen pregnancy by providing contraceptives. (Mar 2005)

Voted YES on criminal penalty for harming unborn fetus during other crime. (Mar 2004)

Voted YES on banning partial birth abortions except for maternal life. (Mar 2003)

Voted YES on maintaining ban on Military Base Abortions. (Jun 2000)

Voted YES on banning partial birth abortions. (Oct 1999)

Voted YES on banning human cloning. (Feb 1998)

Rated 0% by NARAL, indicating a pro-life voting record. (Dec 2003)

Supports the Pro-life Presidential Leadership Pledge. (Jan 2012)

His supporting Arlen Specter DOES NOTHING for his personal pro-life record, and Arlen Specter DID SOME GOOD with his legacy ( See the conservative justices and judges in our courts ).

So, the onus is on YOU to prove that Santorum isn’t really pro-life. NOT ME.

I thought the onus was on me showing that he converted to pro-life while preparing for politics.

Specter/Santorum a strange career team, hard to believe that a post as amazing as the revelations in post 60, is just ignored by you.

This whole Santorum groupie thing is difficult to understand, he doesn’t bring anything to the conservative movement.

RE: I thought the onus was on me showing that he converted to pro-life while preparing for politics.

Our concern is what he is doing and what he believes NOW. If we keep dwelling on the past, then we’d be slamming St. Paul for the stoning of St. Stephen, or to make the analogy more modern, we’d be slamming Ronald Reagan for signing an abortion bill for California while governor.

WHAT IS SANTORUM’s STANCE NOW? *THAT* is the issue.

As for the word “groupie” you seem to misunderstand my point. I am not his groupie, just because I defend him on the issue of abortion.

Hey, I’d even vote for Ted Cruz over him if this were the choice. But will I vote for him IF ( again the word ) he were the candidate? HECK YES.

Lol, well Cruz is sure no Santorum.

Well, if it were to boil down to Ted Cruz vs Santorum, then we would have a happy problem. I’ll take it.

Spare us, it is an insult for you to compare Santorum with Ted Cruz.

But since promoting Santorum is your real devotion and purpose, it is what you do.

So, who would you vote for in a Santorum vs Clinton match?

Fortunately, we will never have to make THAT decision. Santorum will flame out in any primary because he is delusional in thinking all he has to do is win the evangelical vote.. He will contine to make holier-than-thou statements and be a spoiler for the party.

RE Spare us, it is an insult for you to compare Santorum with Ted Cruz.

For someone like you who accuses Santorum of not being pro-life enough? NOPE, I won’t spare you.

RE: But since promoting Santorum is your real devotion and purpose, it is what you do.

My real devotion is to ADVANCE CONSERVATIVE CAUSES — Fiscal and Social. Santorum more than meets MOST if not all the requirements. If I can’t have Ted Cruz, I’ll take Santorum if he’s the one chosen.

I agree that this is a likely possibility. I am simply talking about a hypothetical. Santorum vs Clinton? SIMPLE CHOICE.

Yep, Santorum is washed up in elective office, he is just looking for a comfortable place to land to make a living, it will never be Santorum against any presidential nominee.

Again, I never said I disagreed with you regarding Santorum’s prospects.

I was challenging your insinuation that he isn’t really pro-life, that’s all.

And again, I re-iterate, in the unlikely event that Santorum were the candidate, I’ll take him over any democrat — WILLINGLY. Without even holding my nose.

Well you know the answer to that........Santorum in a minute, no doubt, but he could not win. We need a fire starter, a lightning rod and fortunately, we have several up and coming rockstars in the Republican Party that I am praying will be ready in 16. I think the old guard RNC is over. I love Jim Jordan, Cruz, Gowdy, Chaffetz, and several others.

“Some of the Wall Street folks have hijacked the party,”

As a social conservative, Santorum appealed to me.

However, I humbly suggest that henceforth any politician who uses the word "folks" to describe leftists and statists who are in opposition to the American people should be publicly flogged.
