Barack Obamas job approval rating is down to 45 percent in the lastest CNN/ORC poll, conducted June 11-13, with 54 percent disapproval. The approval number is down from 53 percent in CNN/ORCs May 17-18 poll. Most interesting result: Obama is getting only 48-percent approval from those age 18 to 34, only 3 percent above his national average.
By way of comparison, Obamas 66 percent of the vote among 18-29s in November 2008 was 13 percent above his 53-percent nationwide percentage, and his 60 percent of the vote among 18-29s in November 2012 was 9 percent above his 51-percent nationwide percentage. Yes, the two age groups arent quite commensurate, but the numbers still suggest that the gap between young voters and their elders is shrinking. In 2008, it was the widest we have seen in any presidential general election since 1972 and we dont have any exit-poll data before then. In the latest CNN/ORC poll, it was down near the level of statistical insignificance.
Why is Obamamania disappearing among the young? One reason: Only 40 percent approve his performance on the economy, slightly less than the 42 percent among all respondents. Many conservatives have been wondering when the economic woes of young Americans the high rate of joblessness, crushing student loan debt for worthless degrees or no degree would sour them on Obama. If the CNN/ORC poll is right, the time is now.
Important caveat: this is just one poll. It could be wrong or misleading. Even so, its interesting. Some analysts have been extrapolating Obamas 66-percent number in 2008 far out into the future, suggesting we will become an overwhelmingly Democratic country. These numbers suggest that may not be so.
What do voters matter to him? He’ll never need them again.
well, obviously these young people are racist.
Famous people across the spectrum, from MSNBC talking heads, to Jimmy Carter, have said tha opposition to this president and his policies is due to racism.
And we know that, according to political correctness, we’re not allowed to criticize any member of an officially recognized grievance group without being called a bigot.
But his party does.
More and more he’s looking like GWB in the secodn term.
“Hell never need them again.”
It’s the other way around, too. They got their EBT’s, homo agenda, illegal immigration DACA etc.
Is he running again?
Dang. This changes everything. Romney will have a shot to win now in Nov.
Obama? That guy’s SOOOOOOOOO 2008!
Besides he bogarted my sexting photos. Not cool!!!
“First against the wall...”
The only thing our youth is angry about is the possibility that the NSA intercepted their sextings to and from their teachers.
The real question is could another Obama sell himself to the current youth.
I believe they could use the Obama template of Hope/change and nonspecific crap again and sucker the newest crop of mushy minds.
The main reason young people don’t like Buckwheat anymore is because he’s spying on their facebook and tumblr accounts. That is a mortal sin, and obuma will never regain popularity with young people.
Anyone else smell burnt toast?
If republicns want to win over the young voters, push legislation to forbid Internet spying on Americans. It will collapse the rat party.
Yep, it would be nice for this to become so ugly that many of those young voters are scarred, and refuse to take the democrats (and the media) at face value ever again, and will at least check out the republicans, rather than automatically dismissing them.
Unless Marco Rubio has his way.

You are spot on.
legislation does not get attention of indictments, trials and death sentences.
the irs treacherous tyrany should be punishable by death.
The spy charges should carry a lesser sentence but there must be hype from the right and squealing from the left.
