Gov. Rick Scott gains ground in new statewide poll, but still trails former Gov. Charlie Crist

Gov. Rick Scott is more popular, according to a new poll by Quinnipiac University, but 50 percent of voters say he doesn’t deserve to be re-elected and that he would lose handily to former Gov. Charlie Crist if the 2014 election were today.

Scott’s standing with the public has been so persistently grim that any improvement looks like a breakthrough. His approval rating cracked 40 percent for the first time in the latest poll — 43 percent of voters approve of his handling of his job, 44 percent disapprove.

The media HATES Rick Scott. Every media outlet I have read, seen, or heard in the mainstream, is nasty to him.

They have declared war on Rick Scott, and are working overtime to push the prancer Charlie Crist back down our throats.

Florida FREEPers, I know many of you have qualms about Scott...but he IS better than Crist, or whoever the Demonrats support. Let's work to educate the voters, so that the media loses this election.

.

Scott's been a pretty decent guy.

His first act was to cancel the Obamanation high-speed rail billion-dollar boondogle.

The billon-dollar Tampa-Orlando high-speed rail was a study in absurdity.

The liberal media here (especially the putrid Tampa Bay Times) propagandizes him all the time.

Two weeks ago they found a lame excuse to criticize Scott, after he bought an airplane (with his own money) to save the State of Florida on official business trip costs.

These liberal morons are insatiable.

Rush Limbaugh is correct.

DO NOT try an accomodation with liberals.

All they want is "power". Absolute power.

agree, he;s been a damn sight better than the last idiot we had and that;s why the media is in full attack and has been since he won his election.

This will come to turn out, the south for Crist and the dopey idiots w=down there who only thin name and go along with the media.
The central part which can go either way and it depends on turn out and then the north east and north west which will go for Scott

This state is truly two different states

I voted for him the first time. I will not vote for him this time because of the role he played in the legal lynching of George Zimmerman. In my opinion, he sold his soul to appease the rabble rousers. Let them re-elect him.

agree about zimmermann but bloody hell WOW letting Crist in would be a massive disaster and to stay at home and give us Crist would give us years of torture

Scott would need every vote and staying at home because of one issue and letting Crist in would do noting but help the left

And Scott is doing all he can to help them. He sided with them by leading the George Zimmerman lynch mob. I voted for him the first time, but I will not again. Let the rabble rousers he sold his soul to put him back in office.

Charlie Crist will have money from attys Morgan and Morgan to help him out I bet. Those are the attys (ambulance chasers) who had a fund raiser for Obama in Heathrow and Crist works for them right now.

I would think Crist would be an easy winner in 2014; people in FL aren’t really Floridian anymore.

Morgan and Morgan are the one of the largest, if not the largest Democrat donors in this state. They are huge fund raisers.

agree, no matter what good Rick Scott does the stinking local ‘newspaper’ slams him. IF they print anything good, it’s typically not on the front page or in bold print. Scott has an uphill battle. Also, agree that Scott is 100% better than chameleon Charlie.

Scott got really bad advice from that ditz Pam Bondi on the Zimmerman trial, and displayed his own lack of backbone as well.

‘.. to stay at home and give us Crist would give us years of torture..’

sounds familiar......like staying home gave us Mr. Obama and look what that’s done to America....and will continue for 3 more years.

Yuck, did you have to mention Morgan & Morgan? When I lived in Orlando, the only way you could escape John Morgan’s ads was to switch the TV channel to PBS. Now I am in Lexington, KY, and he just followed me here; since last March he has been advertising out the wazoo on our local TV, radio, and billboards, too. I have warned my friends that he is not a Kentucky boy, any more than I am.
