About 8 million immigrants living unlawfully in the United States would initially gain legal status under sweeping legislation moving toward a vote in the Senate, the Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday, adding the bill would push federal deficits lower in each of the next two decades.

The eagerly awaited report by Congress' non-partisan scorekeeping agency said the legislation would increase federal spending in the form of benefits for those gaining legal status, but those expenses would be more than offset by a rise in the labor force, increasing revenues.

CBO initially scored Obamacare at $900 billion. Their report isn't worth a bucket of warm spit. Amnesty will break State and federal budgets.

It would cut it by a couple of percentage points, but nothing would really change otherwise.

A deficit is a deficit.

Everybody knows that.

The CBO just like all of the other agencies is tooting the horn for the Marxist in chief and his willing compadres on both sides of the aisle. Believe them....NOT!

They’re really desperate. People at CBO must have been threatened somehow to produce a joke like this.

8 MILLION??? BWAAAAAAAAHAAHAAA!!!

Since they ONLY undercounted the number who will get amnesty by AT LEAST 100% - their estimate on "deficit reduction" of amnesty must be SO ACCURATE!

ROTFL! Somebody has been hitting the happy smoke again. ANALysts are some wacky people. There is NO WAY IN HELL that “immigration reform” (Opening the gates to the U.S. Treasury to foreign nationals) is going to cut the deficit. No way.

Would they get retroactive Social Security benefits? Think about it. Many of the foreigners working illegally in this country are doing so by using fraudulent ID stolen from dead people and babies. If they get blanket amnesty, would they still be able to use that fraudulent ID to claim benefits for a job that they stole?

...but those expenses would be more than offset by a rise in the labor force, increasing revenues.

What revenues is that? The taxes on beer and smokes? These low skilled, low wage types will all qualify for welfare and the Earned Income Tax Credit. In other words, the taxman will be paying THEM! Geez. This isn't rocket science.

Maybe. More likely, it is “garbage in - garbage out.”
The CBO has been given numbers that assume that the illegals will automatically accept taxation of what they have been getting paid under the table and will pay back taxes on what they have earned.
We know how likely that really is.

Agree 100%! It drives me crazy when I hear people talk about the additional revenue in taxes these new citizens will be pumping into the coffers. Hell, 95% will be low wage earners who will not pay taxes but will get more back than they paid in through this earned income credit aka wealth distribution scheme the government has waiting for them. Not to mention the food stamps, welfare, etc their anchor babies will qualify for. What a total crock!
