Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis is full of excuses for why the city’s schools are hemorrhaging money, failing to educate students, and laying off teachers by the hundreds.
During her tenure as union head, Lewis has blamed Chicago Public Schools’ problems on Mayor Rahm Emanuel, charter schools, standardized tests, bankers, venture capitalists, a lack of funding and “a culture of fear.”
During a recent speech to the City Club of Chicago, Lewis focused on her two most inflammatory excuses for CPS’ failures: “racism” and “rich white people.”
“When are we going to address the elephant in the room? When will there be an honest conversation about the poverty, racism and inequality that hinders the delivery of a quality education product in our school system?” Lewis asked the decidedly upscale audience.
“When will we address the fact that rich, white people, think they know what’s in the best interest of children of African Americans and Latinos—no matter what the parent’s income or education level,” she said, according to SubstanceNews.net.

After blaming the district’s problems on white people and literally calling for billions in new taxes, Lewis pushed back against perceptions she’s a far-left extremist.
“There is nothing radical about me other than I want each and every student in Chicago to get the best education we have to offer–an equal education,” Lewis declared.

not every kid equally desires an education as much as others. some just want to dance all day, dress like gangster thugs, and try to hve sex with as many other girls and boys as they can.
the real/elephant in the room is people like her and her ideologies that have helped destroy the black family. uncle sugar ain’t a great daddy. he can’t stop the boys from becoming criminal feral youts and he can’t stop the girls fom become entitlement-conceited baby making machines.
I never understand the racism charge in schools. In these heavily minority school districts, the people on the Board of Education, school administrators, principals, and teachers,are all mostly black or other minorities as well. So if the people running things are themselves minority, how can we talk about white racism as a problem???? Or how can we talk about it and be intellectually honest????

Lewis assumed the CTU presidency in June 2010. “Teachers union officials declined to provide information on Lewis’ salary,” The Chicago Tribune reports, but records show that she made more than $71,000 for half a year’s work in 2010 — along with compensation from the Illinois Federation of Teachers in 2011 totaling at least an additional $64,000 on top of her unknown base salary and benefits.
What exactly is her job? Is she a teacher?
Does she have an expense account?
Does she actually work or is she just loud and useless?

Unfortunately, the true reason for the districts problems is because of the students and teachers and administrators generally low intelligence and poor impulse control. However, Americans cannot accept the fact that biology is governing the district as such an idea conflicts with deep seated democratic prejudices: i.e. egalitarianism. To put it another way on the Nature Vs, Nurture controversy Americans inevitably fall on the Nurture side.
Maybe poor black people failed to provide for themselves. That’s what being stupid and lazy does for ya.

I knew the problems of the Chicago government schools were attributable to 1) racism, 2) rich white people, or 3) aliens from the Planet Zenon, but had not been able to narrow it down until this latest pronouncement from Chicago’s Jabba the Hutt.
