Obama offends Catholics in the UK, says religious schools are divisive
BizPac Review ^

Posted on 06/19/2013 11:58:57 AM PDT by Blue Turtle

The Catholic media is up in arms over comments President Obama made during a speech while in Northern Ireland for the G8 summit. Obama made what is described as “an alarming call for an end to Catholic education,” in spite of the fact that it is considered “a critical component of the Church.”

Obama wants nothing less than the total destruction of the Catholic Church...

I would tend to agree with that. It was the Catholic Church that helped to initiate the downfall of Communism in Europe. Reagan and Thatcher did their parts, but Lech Welesa and his Solidarity movement got a big boost from Pope John Paul II.

If the global Communist movement can manage to destroy the Church, then they have removed one potential roadblock to global Communism.

The Catholic Church has also been an historic bulwark against Islam, and that would be another reason Mr. 0bama would want it to decline.

"How many divisions does the Pope have?" "Enough"

Would you be so kind as to show or link to this analysis? It would be very interesting to see how Zero won the “’Catholic’ popular vote”, but lost in the “’Catholic’ Electoral College”.

Catholics overwhelmingly voted for this guy...

Source? Or are you just making stuff up to support your biases?

In Northern Ireland, they are.

RE: I only can go by what I read

Really? You don’t see that as a problem huh? Like when you read that 90% of Americans support expanded background checks. Must be true cuz that’s what you read in the media.

I shake my head.

Divisive? I thought “diversity” was a good thing.

The thing for us to understand now is that he is now focusing on increasing division between Catholics and Protestants.

Are Protestants willing to stand and face our common enemy shoulder-to-shoulder, or will they choose to turn on Catholics when given the chance?

This is a critical consideration for both groups.

Divided we fall.

"Catholics overwhelmingly voted for this guy and they got what they voted for."

Both my Catholic sisters voted for him, as - I assume - did my Catholic mother. My younger sister in particular is an Obama-bot. Obama's hostile, bullying attitude towards Catholicism seems to fly right over their heads.

English Catholics voted for Obama?

Seriously, that’s as bad as the people who want to abandon Israel because so many non-observant American Jews are Democrats.

"RE: Catholics overwhelmingly voted for this guy and they got what they voted for.

How do you know? What is your source for that claim?"

I don't know if "overwhelmingly" is the right word, but I'm pretty sure I read in multiple sources that Obama got the majority of the Catholic vote.

No I read and hear from other sources on that topic I never hear anything from Catholics on anything outside some Pope event or trying to mitigate Protestants as heretical.

When is the last time Catholics as a powerful entity protested anything like abortion in mass like the Tea Party? Never. Stand up to labor unions in the NE blue states? Never. Speak out for the 2nd like the NRA and Tea Party? Never. It is not enough that Catholics participate as members of those organizations they must identify as Catholic.

When will rank and file Catholics, aside from the ones on FR, denounce fellow Catholics like Pelosi et. al., and demand their excommunication or at least stop voting for them.

Catholics on FR do not count, but that only covers a small percentage of your brothers/sisters.

If one is foolish enough to accept the results of media driven unscientific, unreliable exit polls which employ, at best, suspect methodology. Apparently you are.

Right. See #21 so I don’t have to point out the silliness of that claim again.

What does Barack Hussein Obama have to say about the Islamic/Muslim Madrassa? Who is Obama trying to impress with this nonsense or is he deliberately trampling the First Amendment of the United States Constitution....or is this Obama's jihad against Christianity, his duty for Islam? Or is this some sort of carrot for the Teachers Union in an effort to stop the education flight from our dumbed down public school education to parochial schools for a better education.

Whatever he is about, he must clearly must be stopped.

He is running from:
Benghazi
IRS
Fast & Furious
#of Americans on Food Stamps, Disability.....and his Obamacare rising up to smote him...cost, cost, cost skyrocketing....the African vacation for family and friends costing over $80 to 100 million dollars.

Obama also does not call us American Citizens...he says American persons so the illegals among us will not feel slighted....Obama is NOT nuts, he is doing exactly what he said he would do....Change America..the way we do things.....

Impeachment should have been started some time ago and would have had he been white instead of black and I do believe even if that white person were a Democrat, he would be impeached.

While I am not Catholic, I thank God for the Catholic’s in Western NY who created a great education and health care system. The Government schools, like in Buffalo, NY have only 47% graduating and 9.7% at the college entrance level (numbers just released yesterday).

Unless I was in a coma you could not send me to an Erie County hospital as the Catholic Health Care system is vastly superior to the diversity challenged staff in government facilities.

Yes, and if Protestants continue to attack us Catholics instead of standing together against the same foe, we will both lose.

Francis prays that unity prevail over conflict and division at today’s Audience
06/19/2013

" Let us remember this well: being part of the Church means being united to Christ and receiving from Him the divine life that makes us live as Christians; it means remaining united to the Pope and the Bishops who are instruments of unity and communion, and also means overcoming personal interests and divisions, in order to understand each other better, to harmonize the variety and richness of each member; in a word, to love God and the people who are next to us more, in the family, in the parish, in the associations,” the Pope remarked."

Viva Unity and Diversity! As long as we fall inline behind the Vatican II sect.
