President Obama is preparing regulations limiting carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants, senior officials said Wednesday. The move would be the most consequential climate policy step he could take and one likely to provoke legal challenges from Republicans and some industries.
Electric power plants are the largest single source of global warming pollution in the country, responsible for nearly 40 percent of greenhouse gas emissions. With sweeping climate legislation effectively dead in Congress, the decision on existing power plants — which a 2007 Supreme Court decision gave to the executive branch — has been among the most closely watched of Mr. Obama’s second term.
The administration has already begun steps to restrict climate-altering emissions from any newly built power plants, but imposing carbon standards on the existing utility fleet would be vastly more costly and contentious.
The president is preparing to move soon because rules as complex as those applying to power plants can take years to complete. Experts say that if Mr. Obama hopes to have a new set of greenhouse gas standards for utilities in place before he leaves office he needs to begin before the end of this year.

So, here now is the culmination of his first term's work laying the ground work in which America's ability as the world's largest economy is very likely to see productivity hampered, more jobs being lost,never to return, Obama's plan to destroy America begins with the curtailment of power plants idled due to some utterly disingenuous, totally fraudulent conspiracy to destroy America's economic, military might and the curtailment of the bountiful cornucopia America has enjoyed for so many decades.
It's so utterly transparent at how rigged, this global warming libel against America has no other purpose but the deliberate destruction America.

Coal & natural gas burning power plants are hard pressed to meet the recently enacted rules on emissions due to costs & difficulties in designing & installing scrubbers to take out co2 & other emissions.
Double up on rules & we will have plants shutting down, higher rates & brown outs. The economy will tank and jobless will sit home with no TV, heat or AC.

Yep...and he’s been clamoring for the nations to get back on the Climate Change Global Warming Band wagon...so not surprising.
We are going down I’m afraid...the nation cannot continue to handle the economic drag much longer and ObamaCare will do us further that decline... Already companies are taking people to part-time...and other businesses will simply fold.....So adding Carbon Taxation onto the Limited Companies we’ll have left in the US will simply take us further into the gutter.
They should just cut to the chase and make it illegal to combine any elements on the periodic table in any way, without a license, payment of fees for processing said license, and sufficiently burdensome taxes to discourage elemental manipulation directly or indirectly for profit. Any such process would be exempt insofar as it can be shown to contribute to political party coffers and agents of those parties.
I don’t think any of that is going to make much difference as he’s moving forward hot and heavy regardless....and Congress can’t begin to move fast enough to stop him.
Executive orders apply ONLY to the Executive Branch. Nobody else has to give a crap about them.
