I have a lump in my throat reading this - my child JUST returned from studying abroad in Ecuador. Chilling
Banos ... plural of ..
Ecuador. Thanks Cindy.
En Espanol, baños is bathrooms.
You’re welcome Sunken Civ.
I’m glad your child made it safely home.
It was suspected but never proven that the guard may have had something to do with it and that David was just an innocent victim since the targets were likely the two brothers.
Honduras has become very dangerous and while my brother-in-law and sister used to vacation there almost every year, they refuse to go there anymore......
“Baths,” as in the resort of Bath in England (mineral springs), or Hot Springs, White Sulphur Springs, etc., in the U.S.
When you gott'a pee, and you don't know where one is ... you ask , "Where's the bano?"
It’s a euphemism, as when we say, “Rest room,” for a place in which we do not intend to take a nap.
In French they have “pissoir” and in gutter English, “crapper.” I’m sure there are similar terms in Spanish, but nobody uses them in front of middle-aged church ladies.
My daughter spent a summer there about ten years ago. Prayers.
When you gott’a pee, and you don’t know where one is ... you ask , “Where’s the bano?”
So YOU are the one pee’ing in the tub! You need to stop that.
That wasn’t pee ... see your optometrist.
our state department is completely inept
Thank you, I was pretty nervous the entire semester.
So sorry to hear this, what an awful tragedy for your brother-in-law’s family.
The locals are pretty sure on the fact that they don’t have kidnappers in the local area.
I’d be looking for a mountain lion (puma) that chased him off the trail, and ended up taking him down somewhere. When I was in Panama....between the snakes and the pumas....it just was advisable not to wander off away from civilization.
