GOP effort to oust Eric Holder picks up steam

The House Republican effort to oust Attorney General Eric Holder has attracted a significant amount of momentum this month.

Since the beginning of June, 66 Republicans have signed on to Rep. Paul Gosar’s (R-Ariz.) legislation that calls for Holder’s immediate resignation. Gosar’s resolution now has 122 co-sponsors, more than half of the House GOP conference.

In an interview with The Hill, Gosar attributed the burgeoning support to the Department of Justice’s controversial snooping of The Associated Press and Fox News.

“Americans have lost faith in our chief law enforcement officer. He’s contradicted himself in front of Congress,” said Gosar, who launched the resolution in the wake of the Justice Department’s botched “Fast and Furious” gun-tracking operation.

One of the recent co-sponsors is Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), who heads the Judiciary subcommittee that the measure was referred to.

It remains unclear whether Sensenbrenner will move the motion and if GOP leaders will bring it to the floor.

Gosar said he is focused on getting as many co-sponsors as he can.

Not one Democrat has backed the legislation, but Gosar is optimistic that will change. He said he has been reaching out to Democrats who voted to hold the attorney general in contempt of Congress last year. The contempt motion passed 255-67, with the support of 17 Democrats.

Even if the House passes the Gosar measure, it is unlikely to move in the Democratic-led Senate. President Obama, meanwhile, has publicly defended his attorney general, saying last month that he has “complete confidence in Eric Holder.”

Why bother?

It will just allow the race baiters to fundraise off of us being RAAAACISTS. Whoever replaces him is going to be an ideological clone anyhow.

Indeed. His skin melanin makes him immune from accountability, and any attacks on him will be turned back on the attackers.

Holder is IMMUNE.

He could break into a real Presidents Office without accountability.

He could burn children alive in the USA without accountability.

He could break weaponize narcoterrorists FROM THE DO”J” without accountability.

He could manage election fraud FROM THE DO”J” without accountability.

He could engineer LAWFARE against the USA actually HELPING terrorists FROM THE DO”J” without accountability.

Those in the DO”J” who have allowed this are guilty
of misprision of felony.

Gee, if Congress had done something significant when they caught Holder perjuring himself instead of ‘censuring’ him, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

As Tee Partier Becky Gerickson told Congress-—govt workers are the servants of the people-—not our masters-—the govt has forgotten its place.

THE REALITY IS Holder will hang on ALAP b/c he has (1) a hefty pay-check and perks, (2) Ohah/Jarrett in his corner, (3) legal protection, and, (4) tax-paid DOJ lawyers to defend himself-—when necessary.

If he resigns or is fired he would be open to many lawsuits from AP and Fox.

He will have to be forced from office he blatantly lied to Congress-—so all of his backtracking, and bobbing and weaving now is nothing but a ruse to cover his degenerate ***.

Meh. This GOP doesn’t “pick up steam”. That being said, here’s hoping and PLEASE don’t put the inept Issa in charge of anything.

This is not the first time Holder has “misled” Congress. Documents obtained in 2012 by Judicial Watch, pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, revealed that top political appointees at the DOJ were intimately involved in the decision to drop the voter intimidation lawsuit against the New Black Panther Party (NBPP).

That information conflicts with Holder’s testimony before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies on March 1, 2011. “The decisions made in the New Black Panther Party case were made by career attorneys in the department. And beyond that, you know, if we’re going to look at the record, let’s look at it in its totality,” Holder contended.

The DOJ had initially refused to turn over the documents, contending they didn’t show “any political interference whatsoever.”

Judge Reggie B. Walton in Washington, D.C. District Court disagreed. Allowing the release of the documents on July 23, 2012, he declared that they “reveal that political appointees within DOJ were conferring about the status and resolution of the New Black Panther Party case in the days preceding the DOJ’s dismissal of claims in that case.

I can see the Senate Trial now:

GOP Prosecutor: "New Black Panthers, Fast and Furious, Lying under oath, AP, Rosen, etc., etc., etc."

Holder: "You're a racist"

Dems vote in a block to acquit. Arlen Specter is given an honorary posthumous vote as well.

Can’t wait to see who Mr Obama, I’m continually in your face, would appoint as a replacement.

Doesn’t do any good unless you oust (imprison) his boss too.

As a friend recently pointed out, obama is usually quick to throw under the bus anyone who threatens his path to absolute power or his popularity. The fact that Holder is still around suggests that Holder must have some real blackmail type leverage on obama.

IMPEACH.

So the House impeaches.

The Dem Senate would acquit. What good would that do?
