This can only be a surprise to the GOP. It’s been pretty obvious since FDR’s administration that a huge fraction of the federal budget is a money laundering scheme for leftists - both to buy votes and to stuff their pockets.

A white majority that is so afraid of being called a bigot they will co and go along with anything proposed, an elderly population deathly afraid of the retirement and SS being taken away just when they need them, and totally compromised media institution full of liberals that would help with the propaganda.
I do not believe that it goes far enough to call this regime “corrupt” in the sense of using “corrupt” to enrich ones self personally at the public expense. Yes, that is certainly going on.
Corruption by itself is all about personal gain and little or no sense of a “bigger picture.” This regime, or at least its architects Jarrett and Axelrod, do have that sense of its bigger picture, and that is exactly what Rush and the IBD editorial stated. It has been apparent in every policy of this regime since January 2009. It is the establishment of the perpetual one-party state with all real power vested in the central organs of government. A government that is, for all intents and purposes, part and part of the Party.
The model for this is the Soviet Union. These people are full-blown hard line Soviet communists. What they are doing is simply what all good Soviet communists do.
The fact that all communist regimes were also corrupt and run for the personal benefit of the ruling elite is simply a symptom of the larger disease.
Do not leave out the education system, from K-12 to college, full of Marxist propagandist teachers. They have had the last 40 years to feed their Communist beliefs into the last two generations, ginning them up to hate their parents, hate working for a living and hate America while they major in stupidity and get worthless degrees. Remember Hillary at Wellesly soaking up the Alinsky way?? And her less than glowing remarks about her father operating a dry cleaners trying to put her through school. (How awful, he was a capitalist pig) She stated at one time she could not be responsible for every underfunded business like her Dad’s.
