So you prefer tuition tax credits instead,correct? Yes. If a person chooses to educate their kids in a private school then they should be able to claim a tax credit equal to the proportion of the budget that goes to fund primary and secondary education. If 50% of the budget goes to that, for example, then they get credited 50% of their tax bill. That should be true for state income taxes, local income taxes, or property taxes.
