Rubio Admits ‘Political Operatives’ Hope Immigration Bill Will Give Democrats Lock On Power
PJ Media ^ | June 21, 2013 - 7:34

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) defended the Senate Gang of Eight’s immigration bill on the Andrea Tantaros Show today. Rubio on Thursday voted with most Republicans to add a security amendment offered by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). But that amendment went down on a mostly party-line vote. Cornyn’s amendment would have given border security a higher priority in the bill, and made it easier to deport illegal-alien criminals who drunk drive and are caught in domestic abuse cases, among other crimes.

Sen. Rubio claimed that the Corker-Hoeven amendment, which would beef up border security, is a “dramatic improvement” over the bill. Tantaros fired: “If this amendment is so good, why wasn’t it in the original bill?”

Rubio answered that he is listening to input to try to improve the bill, and that the amendment in his judgement improves the bill.

Tantaros asked Rubio if the Democrats are using the bill to change the demographics in states like Texas to give them a lock on power. Rubio admitted that some “political operatives” are hoping to use the bill that his Gang of Eight is offering to do just that.

In fact, the Texas Democratic Party explicitly bases its long-term strategy on current demographic changes underway in the Lone Star State. Those changes would be accelerated if the Rubio-Schumer immigration bill becomes law. “There’s no doubt that politics are involved in this,” Rubio admitted as he criticized groups on the left that continue to push for less border enforcement and more government benefits for illegal aliens.

Tantaros asked Rubio about the FAIR chart showing a how a litany of crimes committed by illegal aliens would be treated. Rubio agreed that “that should be fixed.” He said that he would support amendments to close off those waivers, and hopes those amendments are offered in the Senate. Rubio’s defensive response raised the questions of whether Sen. Rubio knows what is in the bill bearing his name, and why he tells Americans that it is “95% perfect.”

The Andrea Tantaros Show is produced by Fox

He is stupid.

He may have been bought off.

He may well be dirty and is being blackmailed

But he believed in amnesty way before most conservatives ever heard of him. He was killing tough illegal immigration bills in the FL Legislature when he was Florida’s Speaker of the House. He stated his dislike of Arizona’s tough laws before he was elected senator. This was not a surprise. I have always been shocked that TEA party people were so easily fooled by him, and even after I told them about his love of illegals, they’d still make excuses for him.

I had hoped that his alignment with the TEA party movement meant he would bury his love of illegals in order to keep himself in office, but no. He was perfectly happy to make conservatives look like stooges. It does not appear that he cares whether or not he is re-elected. As long as he can get illegals into this country, he’ll be happy.

He fell for the Democrat flattery.

He's been an amnesty backer since his days in the statehouse. He did not fall for Democrat flattery. We fell for Rubio's deceit.

I think this will finish the GOP and yes, the dems will have a lock on power from here on out.

While we haven’t been running around with torches, pitchforks, muskets and cannon balls, I believe that we have been in the midst of a civil war.... and we may have just lost the darn thing.

Yes,I know that Rubio has talked about immigration from the beginning, but his plan involved in giving amnesty to college graduates or graduates of a trade school. He wanted them to get an education and then the amnesty.

I agree, but I am also afraid that we have been sabotaged from within by Republican union supporters who refused to go into battle against the unions. There was a time that I thought that taking on the unions was an ill fated battle that was not worth the effort, but that was before I learned about the SEIU and other government unions, before ACORN and Obamacare.

I tried to talk to the head of our state Republican Party about the SEIU and other government unions and he told me to go to the state convention and propose an amendment, but he that the Republican Party was going to do it.

Rubio is the new McCain.
While theoretically Republican, he votes Democrat to be praised as the man who crossed the aisle and compromised.

That is true. I looked at some of the ol posts about Rubio back when he was running for Senate. Any FReeper who brought up his amnesty leanings was quickly swarmed by Rubio backers.

What fun for him.

Isn’t he cute? He may score with a Hollywood celeb.

Marco Rubio is NOT a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.

Marco's status is the same as that of Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama, who is NOT a Natural Born Citizen.

Yet, Barack Obama is still President.

So, what does your claim mean, in actual fact?

Nothing.

A year ago, I would have considered Rubio to be a great candidate for president.

Now, I feel exactly the same way about him as you.

I can’t stand the sight of him.

To those who don't care about our Constitutional form of government, I suppose you're correct, it would mean nothing.
