The archive of Journolist has been released to Gawker by the hacker Guccifer, and it presents a terrible dilemma for anyone connected to the Washington reporter scene from 2007ish to 2009, when it was revealed that some people made fun of Sarah Palin on the secret reporter listserv. As Gawker's Hamilton Nolan explains, it forced some reporters to publicly apologize, stirred up conservative outrage, and Dave Weigel left The Washington Post in the aftermath, only to be hired by Slate.
The listserv caused problems for a few people who were on it. But now that the whole thing is public, it's created a problem for those who weren't. Do you search for your name?(continued)

It’s from The Atlantic.
The Atlantic.....full of sewage, crabs and garbage.....it’s also the name of an ocean.
Some ESL geek at Yahoo screwed it up.
It means, “The archives of the Journ-o-list e-mail list are addictive like crack for lefties seeking gossip about their colleagues.”
Thus, the crack = addiction headline.
“RESIST, WE MUCH!”
“Wonk crack” - is that anything like plumber’s butt? ;-)
I think he took Journolist and made it possessive by adding an “apostrophe s” to the end then “decontracted” it into Journolist is.
In other words, the “Archive of the Journolist is Crack to Wonks”.
I thought it was a disparaging comment about Wonkette. ;-)
Remember JournoList and all the plotting that went on against Sarah Palin there?
ESL, apparently . . .
Wonk crack is a helluva drug.
Did someone have a stroke while writing the title?
John McCormack, staff writer for The Weekly Standard, tweeted some Journolist flashbacks in case youve forgotten:
Tweeters have noted that its highly unlikely what Gawker released is the entire Journolist archive:
There is no way the complete Journolist Archive is online. There are only 265 documents in that uploaded archive, about 100 emails.

Read through the Journolist archive published by Gawker. This is not the complete archive. Nothing much there that hasn't been seen before.

One thing everybody can agree on: A great deal of what has been released seems to be html code:
That journolist thing is unreadable.

Heres the idea of the day:
Someone should get Sarah Palin to crowd-source the Journolist data dump, just for irony.

This would be a vastly better world to live in if Matt Drudge decided to handle his emotional problems more responsibly, and set himself on fire.—David Weigel
If I had been old enough to vote in 1968, I doubt I would have voted for HHH, since I thought McCarthy supporters were naive dupes of capitalism. Katha Pollitt
Another thing to remember about NASCAR is that it REQUIRES driving an American car. The sport has its own built-in jingoism- Rick Perlstein
This is my brain on crack...;-)
Looks like a typo.
These people are rotting corpses, and Palin brought out their inner zombie.
Some of these folks are complete nuts, some—e.g. Micheal Steele—are elevated for no other reason than symbolism, but others are going to be very significant figures in consevative politics because of their own talents and convictions, which appeal to the white voters in part because they confirm their view of the world.-Mark Schmitt
The appointment of Clarence Thomas was going to lead to an increase in black support for Republicans. How’s that going?—Jeffrey Toobin
AND we all know lots of men use prostitutes and think massage therapists are basically prostitutes, this shocked me. I wish I was a lesbian. Al gore, the sanctimonious rapist. I hate him. -Katha Pollitt
