BROOKLYN, MI – Columbia School District officials say they are shocked and saddened by the arrest of an active Parent Teacher Organization member.
Jill Miller, 37, of Liberty Township was arraigned in Jackson County District Court on Wednesday, June 12, on charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, child abusive commercial activity and internet-communicating with another to commit a crime, according to court records.
Police have released few details of the case. Miller has a preliminary examination in Jackson County District Court scheduled July 12.
Miller, who has four children in Columbia schools, most recently was president of the Columbia Middle School PTO. She also has been president of the Miller Elementary School PTO, the Columbia Elementary School PTO and was set to become an officer next year with the Columbia Athletic Boosters, officials said.
“She has been issued a notification that she is no longer allowed to enter school grounds or attend school activities and functions pending the outcome of this case,” Columbia Superintendent Pam Campbell said.
Because the accusations include at least one child, the district must think of its students first, Campbell said.
“While all of these things are alleged at this time, we must ensure the safety of our students first,” she said.
Miller also was hired by a third-party employer – not the district itself – to work two to three hours a week as a lunchroom aide at Columbia Middle School, Campbell said. Prior to being hired by this company, Campbell said Miller underwent a full background check and fingerprinting as required by law.
“We are very saddened to hear that one of our PTO members has been alleged to have done these things,” Campbell said.

...Jackson County Undersheriff Chris Kuhl said he was contacted by detectives from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to assist in a computer-solicitation case that allegedly involved Miller. The Indiana case remains under investigation, and Kuhl said he was not able to release details on that case.
When sheriff’s detectives went to Miller’s home to interview her in relation to the Indiana case, they discovered digital “sexually abusive material” in her residence that led to the charges, Kuhl said.
“She was thought to have been a witness in the Indiana case, but it became clear it was more than that,” Kuhl said...
The money we waste on schools to not teach children could be paid out to the private school or the home schools.

Holy-molly, Michiganders. This is off the topic of this thread, but you made internet-communicating to commit a crime an offense that calls for an arrest. How about you people start arresting the IRS fascists for violating the civil rights of your citizens? These crimes were done over the Internet.
Some state has to begin arresting these neo-fascist Washington bureaucrats. You got a state guard. Send heavily armed SWAT teams to the homes of these IRS criminals in the middle of the night and arrest them.
When I was in Jr. High back in the mid 70s we got a new music teacher. Single, young, short, fat and ugly. After two years of evening and weekend visits to her apartment from numerous male students the Board decided not to renew her contact.
She was guilty....just never charged.
I guess she figured you can’t have kids laying around and not earning a few bucks .... pimping kids probably requires a “parenting” course at the minimum, unless a registered Democrat, in which case everything is OK.
