Television chef Paula Deen, who lost her gig Friday with the Food Network after admitting and apologizing for having used racial epithets, including the “N-word,” is a supporter of President Barack Obama, campaigning on his behalf in 2008 and cultivating a friendship with first lady Michelle Obama.

Though Deen allegedly called Obama the “N-word” in front of her employees, according to a lawsuit, the Southern-bred television personality actually campaigned with Obama in 2008, invited Michelle Obama onto one of her television programs, and praised the first lady’s healthy eating agenda. …

I quit watching her show years ago. In fact, the Food Network is overrated in my opinion. It’s become more entertainment rather than actual cooking.

Most of te true racists I’ve met are liberals.

Many of the liberals I know are racists or bigots.

I would agree...maybe in the original theme as they started out, it was pure cooking, but it’s mostly entertainment now. Here’s the thing....by Xmas, Paula will have finished a book entitled “How I recovered from the N-word episode”. The Today Show will interview her, and the food network will let her back in by spring of 2014.

How long will it be before the Negroes and Hispanics
outnumber the Caucasians in America?
What will Negroes be called? I always thought “African-American” was so convoluted and stupid.

Well. If true, it changes my perspective a bit.

Welcome, Paula, to the “thrown under the bus” crowd of Obama lovers.

So, in essence, she answered in the affirmative to the question, "Are you now or have you ever been someone who mispronounces the Spanish word for black?"

I wonder why it was acceptable for the authors of the articles about James Gandolfini's death to include the ethnic slur, "...he has been known to blow lines and drink like an Irish sailor on weekend leave...?"

Guy Fieri is a flaming douche, but “Diners, Drive ins and Dives” is pretty entertaining. That’s about all I can stand of the Food Network any more. That and when they occasionally rerun Good Eats.

OR she will sue them for reverse discrimination. I’d like to see that.

“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

Really, who hasn’t used the “N” word at some time in their 60+ long life??

Can stomach her for about two minutes, until she says “Ya put two table spoons of oy all in the skillet.” How do you get two syllables out of the word oil?

Or one day she asks her son if he wanted smo. Smo? I’m thinking...What the h*ll is smo?

Some more.

Pretty common I think... It is like when MTV first came out when I was in High school. Nothing but videos and I used to stay up and watch Headbanger’s Ball. That being said, I haven’t had MTV on in 20 years, because now it is stupid.

That’s exactly what we were talking about last night. 40-50 years ago, EVERYONE used that word. EVERYONE. And anyone who says otherwise is a LIAR.

I’m 63 and it was never used in my house growing up. I never heard either of my parents use it. Other than quoting Mark Twain I’ve never used it. It’s unnecessary and hurtful. It’s a mark of the uneducated as well, IMHO.

Call me sanctimonious if you like but it’s pretty clear that the word needn’t be used. I see no benefit in its use.

I have known some very old school democrats, in this case from the South, who voted for every democrat no matter what. And that would include Obama.

At the same time, these same individuals used every negative racial stereotype in the book, the “N” word and everything else. EXTREMELY prejudiced.

They were screaming liberals on all economic and social issues but at the same time as resentfully racist as you can get.

There aren’t many of these, as most have died off. But I have known some. Oh yes I have.
