Obama to Pivot to 'Climate Change'; Introduce 'National Plan to Reduce Carbon Pollution'
Weekly Standard ^ | 3:42 PM, Jun 22, 2013 | DANIEL HALPER

President Barack Obama will give a speech on "climate change" this Tuesday, the president announces in a YouTube video:

Addressing the threat of Climate Change

"In my inaugural address, I pledged that America would respond to the growing threat of climate change for the sake of our children and future generations," Obama says. "This Tuesday, I’ll lay out my vision for where I believe we need to go – a national plan to reduce carbon pollution, prepare our country for the impacts of climate change, and lead global efforts to fight it."

Obama continues:

This is a serious challenge – but it’s one uniquely suited to America’s strengths.

We’ll need scientists to design new fuels, and farmers to grow them.

We’ll need engineers to devise new sources of energy, and businesses to make and sell them.

We’ll need workers to build the foundation for a clean energy economy.

And we’ll need all of us, as citizens, to do our part to preserve God’s creation for future generations – our forests and waterways, our croplands and snowcapped peaks.

There’s no single step that can reverse the effects of climate change. But when it comes to the world we leave our children, we owe it to them to do what we can.

So I hope you’ll share this message with your friends. Because this a challenge that affects everyone – and we all have a stake in solving it together.

I hope to see you Tuesday. Thank you.

Just another way for Obama to attack Texas and other places he can’t control.

I wish he would “pivot” back to that rat hole of Chicago where slithered out of.

‘If things continue as they have been, in five years, at the latest, we will need to acknowledge that something is fundamentally wrong with our climate models.

...
J Bryan Kramer writes of this interview with IPCC lead author Hans Van Storch in SPIEGEL.

Interview conducted by Olaf Stampf and Gerald Traufetter

Climate experts have long predicted that temperatures would rise in parallel with greenhouse gas emissions. But, for 15 years, they haven’t. In a SPIEGEL interview, meteorologist Hans von Storch discusses how this “puzzle” might force scientists to alter what could be “fundamentally wrong” models....

...
SPIEGEL: Just since the turn of the millennium, humanity has emitted another 400 billion metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, yet temperatures haven’t risen in nearly 15 years. What can explain this?

Storch: So far, no one has been able to provide a compelling answer to why climate change seems to be taking a break. We’re facing a puzzle. Recent CO2 emissions have actually risen even more steeply than we feared. As a result, according to most climate models, we should have seen temperatures rise by around 0.25 degrees Celsius (0.45 degrees Fahrenheit) over the past 10 years. That hasn’t happened. In fact, the increase over the last 15 years was just 0.06 degrees Celsius (0.11 degrees Fahrenheit) — a value very close to zero....

I've got about 20 to donate.

I now cut 'em up with a Sawzall and throw 'em out otherwise.

And does he want the American people to stop exhaling?

Since the dawn of time petty Dictators, Emperors, Kings and Queens, Tzar's and Politicians of all stripes have dreamed taxing everything under the sun, including the air that you breathe.

Not quite there yet, but getting close.

Carbon is an essential building block of life. Obama hates life. He supports the culture of death.

Obama is going to hit the fossil fuel industry hard because all his lefty environmental supporter are disappointed with the lack of a down right ban on the Keystone Pipeline and then the NSA scandal. They feel that Obama let them down. This is going to be his way to try to win them back.
