I’m going to go out on a limb and guess this one involved another underage prostitute, only this one is no longer among the living.

I’m also going to guess that the voting blocs that decide elections in New Jersey won’t give a damn.

SEN. MENENDEZ RECALL KILLED BY NJ SUPREME COURT

http://www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kidd592.htm

“The New Jersey Supreme Court struck down a tea party-led push to recall Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez as unconstitutional Thursday.

“In a 4-2 decision, state Supreme Court justices said that the Constitution forbids the recall of a sitting U.S. senator. Lawyers for The Committee to Recall U.S. Senator Robert Menendez argued that New Jersey law allows for such a recall, but justices determined that law was pre-empted by federal statute.”

No where in Art. 1, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, Art. 1, Section 3 does it contain any language about recall.

We all know that states have no rights left. If the NJ supremes are correct then no Senator in any state can be recalled.

This is another reason Marco Rubio should not have joined this gang. When I was a kid my Mom would not let me join a gang. She said they were bad people, they would get me in trouble and ruin my reputation. It pissed me off at the time, but now I see what my Mom was talking about.

The New Jersey Supreme Court is corrupt to the core.
The crooked Torricelli rulings were the tip of the iceberg. Those judges do exactly what they are told to do.

they aren’tcorrect, then all states couldn’t have different election laws. recall is part of election laws, if states have them.

Nah, doesn't apply to Menendez. Didn't apply to "Sheets" Byrd, won't apply to another Dem senator, either. Especially one with a hispanic surname.

As for PD, I like the explanation that she was shooting her mouth off about MObama eating PD's show out of the studio during a guest appearance.

The U.S. Constitution says that Senators are elected to terms that last six years, and Representatives to terms that last two years, so recall provisions in state constitutions can’t apply to members of Congress.

Correct, and this was litigated in Idaho in 1967 when some citizens of that state attempted to recall Sen. Frank Church. The federal court shut the recall effort down.

That is correct, no U.S. senator from any state can be recalled (see my post above). State senators can be recalled, however, if their state constitution so allows.

The U.S. Constitution says that Senators are elected to terms that last six years, and Representatives to terms that last two years, so recall provisions in state constitutions can’t apply to members of Congress.

They never have. Recall of Senators, Congressmen and the President has been a dead issue for over a hundred years.

The Senate may expel a sitting Senator with a 2/3 vote. Same for a sitting Congressman. A President much be impeached.

There are no other methods of removal available.

Being owned by Rupert Murdoch, he would have embargoed the story until amnesty passed the Senate next week. I wonder if Drudge has now forced their hand....
