Another episode in "Profiles of the Latino Criminal Underworld"----denizens of a shadowy industry where a lot of money changes hands; you can bribe 'em to say anything.

BACKSTORY Way back in 2006, Menendez had absconded to his donor pal's getaway in the swanky Casa de Campo Dominican Republic resort---Booby was fleeing from nosey US reporters, but he happily cooperated with The Dominican daily, Listin Diario.

On Aug. 22, 2006, Diario published a photo captioned: “Bob Menéndez, the senator from New Jersey, gave an interview (in Spanish) to Listin Diario at the residence of his donor---eye Doctor Salomón Melgen (a Florida resident), at Casa de Campo.”

==========================================

STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE 2006 was a banner year for Booby Menendez: the Congressman had just become a US Senator. But Menendez was annoyed b/c he was being investigated in a rent-for-influence deal by the US Attorney. As landlord for a Newark non-profit, Menendez collected more than $300,000 in rent. As a Congressman, he helped the agency get federal grants.

IN POLITICS ONE HAND WASHES THE OTHER Employees of the N/P agency contributed $33,450 to Menendez’s campaigns. When a furor erupted, Menendez absconded to the Dominican Republic and gave interviews there in Spanish. He returned here when the furor died down.

NOT TO WORRY The lease stated the n/p agency’s ability to pay was dependent on the agency getting certain federal/state funding. Menendez "said" he had permission from Mark Davis of the House Ethics Committee in 1994 before entering the lease. But a Capitol Hill publication said Davis didn’t work there at that juncture. And when Menendez's self-serving deal was outed, Mr Davis was incommunicado---he was a corpus delecti.

Booby had escaped unscathed.....ole.

=======================================================

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY Booby hired a Peruvian illegal who was a registered sex offender to work in his DC office as a "volunteer".......but nobody could say who paid the guy's rent, transportation costs, meals, etc.....

Booby cavorted w/ underage Dominican prostitutes who complained he shorted them on the price.

Menendez used his position and US govt authority and OUR resources to discourage plans by the United States government to donate port security equipment to the Dominican Republic to detect drug cargo.

Menendez cited concern that the advanced screening gear might undermine efforts by a private company — a company run by Menendez's major campaign contributor---a friend w/ dual residences in Miami and the Dominican Republic...Dr Melgen.

Menendez's intervention with the Department of Homeland Security came even though Mr. Menendez has publicly chastised the Obama administration for not doing more to combat the surging drug traffic moving through Dominican ports.

And it came shortly after the senator’s Miami friend, Dr. Salomon E. Melgen, arranged to meet with a senior State Dept official, accompanied by a former aide to Mr. Menendez........in a related push to protect his company's port security contract, which is worth as much as $500 million over 20 years.

Menendez has only acknowledged three Dominican visits--all in 2010--then belatedly paid Melgen $58,500 in January 2013 as reimbursement for two trips. The DSSC, which he then-headed, paid for the third, part of a fundraising swing.

===============================================

The dreaded "Christie appointee" is the only thing standing between Menendez and a celibate life as a civilian in a tenement in downtown Hudson County. Legacy-obsessed Obama needs Menendez in the Senate (and latino votes) to takeover the US govt. Upsetting the taco truck is NOT an option.

HERE'S WHAT MENENDEZ DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW---THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC is a Caribbean nation notorious for corrupt governments and strong-arm dictators. The Dominican Republic's largely impoverished citizenry have no safety net or state-sponsored job creation programs.

Some one million Dominican citizens currently live illegally in the US. They send home about a $$billion US dollars annually---considered by the corrupt do-nothing govt to be a major source of state revenue. A steady exodus is encouraged to leave for US shores lured by the endless US gravy train. (FACT SOURCE--Dominican Republic travel brochure).

BUT THE PLAYERS DO HAVE A PLAN----the Dominican govt cunningly figured out that that massive financial benefits would derive from Obama's amnesty plan. Dominican pressure groups in the US--voting blocs--exchanging votes for foreign aid---means zillions of us tax dollars going straight into the pockets of corrupt third world federales.

Menendez and his donor Melgen would be national heroes and recompensed accordingly. So when Melgen kisses up to Obama and throws money at politicans, and when the Dominican Republic meddles in US affairs (putting in the fix to exonerate Menendez), that's not about YOUR interests, that's all about THEIR interests.

Where is Mitch McConnell?

He knew of the MA seat, He knew Lautenberg was about to take a dirt nap and Menedez had troubles up the ying-yang, and no strategy to win these seats for a further block on Obama.

I also said why is Obama going to NJ all the time and swooning with two ton?

He new damn well he was about to loose two seat!

It is enough to make you want to scream!

Thank You Liz for this enlightening post. From what I sense the plan is a further drain our nation's treasury once amnesty is passed. Bribery is secondary to destruction of the dollar as the world standard based on what I perceive from the players involved. Is a fast forward mode our leaders have chosen to bring a lower standard of living to everyone. Am amazed the lame-stream drive by media does not believe their families will suffer with the rest of the People, otherwise the lame-stream drive bys would be screaming at the top of their voices to remove those doing this evil to America. Am not defeated but dang, sometimes I think someone is raising a surrender flag for America and Americans and nobody cares to stop that someone or someones from raising that surrender flag or too many FBI files and other sorts of information are flowing freely to keep people with information of what the truth is, in check or is done via threat of arrest. Great Job with the synopsis Liz. I will probably have to become one of your regular readers, with your permission.

So the Texas state legislature can recall Cruz and replace him with RINO Dewhurst, the NH Democrat legislature can recall Ayotte and name some moonbat Democrat, the RAT state legislature in AR can replace Boozman with some “Blue Fraud” who will vote as Harry Reid tells him, the NV legislature can replace Heller with Harry Reid’s son, and even if we elect a Republican to the Senate from WV, MN or NJ the state legislature could just recall him and replace him with a moonbat? No, thanks.

The Constitution is *very* specific about the length of Senate terms. It took over a century since its ratification for any state to claim the right to recall, and the notion was immediately shot down; after almost another century some people forgot and proposed it again, but it is still wrong.

Senators cannot be recalled, or impeached/removed by their state legislatures. It's true that some state constitutions permit such things, but the US Constitution trumps state constitutions via Article VI. Both federal courts (1967) and state courts (2013) have recognized this via litigation and case law.

Likewise, states cannot place term limits on senators or congressmen, as litigated decades ago in federal court.

Bottom line: no recall, no impeachment, either by voters or state legislatures. A senator can be removed by failure to re-elect, resignation, death, or expulsion by two-thirds of the Senate, but by no other means.

Recall means new election, not defacto replacement.

Recalls by state legislatures would put states back at the table with the federal government. Voters would still vote for US Senators because the 17th would not be repealed. Only a new amendment would allow state legislatures to recall wayward US senators.

Recalls could be expensive so it is expected state legislatures would recall only if there was broad public support. Otherwise US Senators could continue to do what they do now which is to thumb their nose at the state and break any promises to voters.

Or look what Cruz called McCain on regarding the immigration bill. Cruz said the dirty secret that incumbents don’t want their voters to know is they can vote for a bill to go forward to a final vote knowing full well the bill will pass and yet they vote against it in the final vote to take cover; they can tell their constituents they voted against it.

Booby Menendez represents everything the Founders deplored as they struggled against foreign domination in order to fashion a new govt----a govt of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Menendez's unmitigated contempt for US law and the people's freedoms, his blatant self-serving activities suggest an "overlord" mentality----that govt authority and resources are to be subjugated---to serve only him and his chosen collaborators in their wonton greed for foreign riches and non-stop sex.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee (which he heads) is there to protect US INTERESTS -- not to advance the greed of one Senator and his Third World co-conspirators.

Menendez clearly expects the rest of us to shut up---to grin and bear it---as he walks allover us AND the US Constitution.

I am well aware of that; I merely was responding to the prior post, which proposed amending the U.S. Constitution to permit recalls by stte legislatures.
