Snowden heads to Venezuela via Moscow, Havana: airline source
Reuters ^ | 6/23/2013

Former U.S. National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden will fly from Moscow to Cuba on Monday and then plans to go to Venezuela, a source at the Russian airline Aeroflot said on Sunday.

The source said Snowden was already on his way to Moscow from Hong Kong and would leave for Havana within 24 hours.

The South China Morning Post also reported that Snowden had left Hong Kong for Moscow and that his final destination might be Ecuador or Iceland. The WikiLeaks anti-secrecy website said Snowden was heading for an unnamed "democratic nation".

The flight to Moscow prompted speculation that Snowden might remain in Russia, whose leaders accuse the United States of double standards on democracy and have championed public figures who challenge Western governments.

But Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said he was unaware of Snowden's plans and the Foreign Ministry declined immediate comment on whether he had asked for asylum.

Yep. They should find, shoot him, kill him. Some FReepers should man up (or woman up) and admit they were wrong about him. I respect a person that can do that. The inverse also applies.

That isn’t guts.

It is international air piracy and violation of sovereignty of another nation’s rights. i.e. Normal day to day stuff for Bambi to do.

I too tend to suspect it is actually disinfo and they have a different route and destination planned out.

Why would Ecuadorians be at the Moscow airport for him, then, instead of Venezuelans?

FSB in Moscow could be cooperating in such a disinfo game and order Aeroflot to give a false flight route, just to throw the Yanks off and (help) get the guy to safe haven in Iceland or Ecuador........

Or he is being used to get this stuff out in the open so the feds can start using it against enemies of the state.

Too many different scenarios. Only one I am 100% sure of is things are not as they seem to be.

Do you think Americans should know or not know about these programs?

It is possible that there are groups and coalitions within different intelligence communities that have varying opinions of our swift move toward a totalitarian dictatorship. There may be those who are loyal to “The Powers” in office, no matter who is there, and will willingly do whatever they are told.

There may be others who are loyal to the “Old America” within CIA who are aiding him to get asylum in a neutral country and who assisted him to help pull the shroud of secrecy off of this communist, criminal government coup that has happened in front of our eyes.

In the scenario where he’s a plant, obama and his handlers wouldn’t necessarily inform Congress of that fact. This would explain why many of them are apoplectic in their denouncement of Snowden as Evil Incarnate when they can get TV face time. LOL... I can just see how that super-secret Congressional briefing would have gone down:

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m afraid it’s bad. Real bad. Snowdon had the ability to record anything and everything he so desired, and our preliminary investigation indicates that NONE of us is safe. He has been recording everything, and every day we find more. If you’ve done something you wouldn’t want public, he may have proof of it.”

What a perverse pleasure I’m feeling right now.

Snowden revealed the totalitarians inside the wire. Protect the Constitution from *all* enemies, foreign and domestic.

Agreed, yet three quarters of the alleged conservative patriots on this thread consider the man to be a traitor who should be strung up on the nearest lamp post.

I feel like I opened Free Republic and wound up in opposite world.

Agreed - I’ve been betting on Door #3 since this broke. I cannot be made to believe there aren’t patriots in intel that can’t believe what’s happening right in front of their eyes, either.

I also see (not sure if here or elsehwere; both maybe) comparisons between Snowden and Manning. Not the same at all!!!

I am rooting for Snowden 100% and hope he survives and reveals more treason.

How much more evidence is needed before impeachment becomes a serious option?

Sory to say ... there's no way in Hell that a Harry Reid led Senate would impeach Obama.

It's John Boehner's House that would impeach him and Harry Reid's Senate that would try him. But there is still zero chance of either happening.

I missed it, but when dictators resort to this behavior it means they are very insecure in their power and are expecting their coup to fail.

I saw some. He blew the whistle on massive waste of programs like trailblazer...i believe.

In order to charge him, the gov would have had to expose the waste and the program. So they basically dropped the Espionage charges. But, hes done.

Now working at Best Buy.
