‘Power of ridicule’ – New weapon against climate deniers
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer ^ | June 23, 2013 | Joel Connelly

As President Obama readies his program to curb greenhouse gases, climate change action advocates are rolling out a new strategy for controlling verbal emissions by climate change deniers — turning allies of Big Oil and Big Coal into national laughingstocks.

“The power of ridicule should be deployed here,” said Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii. “You have to get to the point where a major candidate for public office is disqualified when he or she denies climate science.” Schatz was speaking to the annual Netroots Nation conference of progressive bloggers.

Jon Carson, head of Organizing for Action — the group formed as an issue-based successor to the Obama presidential campaign — put it this way: “When a Republican or a Democrat says something crazy on climate, we should be ready to hold them accountable as progressives did on human biology.”

The “War on Women” became a great 2012 selling point for Obama and the Democrats, helped in no part by Republican politicians’ intemperate remarks about rape.

Rep. Todd Aiken, R-Mo., blew away his Senate candidacy by discoursing on “legitimate rape” and how a woman’s body can “shut down pregnancy.” Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock argued that a pregnancy caused by rape was “something that God intended to happen.” Washington’s U.S. House hopeful John Koster discoursed about “the rape thing” and an acquaintance who bore a rapist’s child.

By contrast, Republican presidential candidates in 2012 made all manner of unsubstantiated, often off-the-wall statements about climate. The national media greeted such hot talk with glacial indifference, and has treated alarming climate news in the same fashion.....

There was a better one with regard to the polar ice cap being completely gone in five years. He said it in Germany, in the video, one could see a T. Rex skeleton off in the background.

Your link above is also a different one, but it does include the clip I was looking for! THANKS!

The polar ice video I have been seeking had Al saying that the North Polar Ice Cap will completely be gone in 5 years. Not MAY, but WILL.

It was filmed about five years ago in Germany and has disappeared from the net like many of his other videos.

The Left’s position: Why doubt a scientific theory when it aligns so perfectly with our political objectives?

"...They simply ignored his influence on them and other liberals..."

Not at all. The media themselves are acolytes of Alinsky. To say so or even bring it up would only verify what those of us who pay attention already know...that they are all leftists committed to liberalism.

Back in 2010 I had been trying to figure out a way to obtain a copy of “Rules for Radicals” because it is the bible followed by Obama and his associates. I had been trying to get it without paying for it, and the copies at the library were backordered for months. To my surprise, one finally came in after about a six month delay.

When I was about a third of the way through “Rules for Radicals”, I concluded that reading it tells volumes about the people who profess to following it as a bible, especially the ones pushing the legislation we have seen in the last two years.

The book explains a lot. And none of it is good.

I was going to dictate the entire thing and make an audiobook out of it to give to my close associates, who, like me, don’t want a single red cent to go to anyone associated with writing, printing or distributing that hideous work. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I couldn’t stomach hearing myself read it in a way that would make it easier on the ears to listen to (To put the inflection in the right places means you have to read it as if you believe it, and I gave up after one chapter.)

It is probably one of the most amoral, twisted works I have ever read. Given that Alinsky wrote a dedication to Lucifer, I shouldn’t be surprised. The dedication was taken out of later editions so as not to offend the clergy he was attempting to recruit, but the version I read had it. Apparently, it was a copy from the 1980's, and they figured it was safe to put it back in.

From what I can see, reading that book enables one to understand what makes Obama (and his devoted followers) tick.

The very FIRST paragraph exposes very clearly what they are all about:
"What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. 'The Prince' was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. 'Rules for Radicals' is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away."

It is unrestricted class warfare, pure and simple. And it is the bible of Obama and his like-minded followers.

After all their efforts, 100 years from now, what will they call "climate change"?

Winter, spring, summer, fall.

We have these ignorant politicians, because members of the Left place on the left side of the Bell Curve. And they are going to use ridicule as an intellectual weapon? They may as well, since they cannot use logic nor science.

Dear Brian Schatz and Jon Carson:

The climate of the earth has been changing in cycles since it has had an atmosphere. Humans have virtually nothing to do with it, and no policy from humans will change it.

That's a fact, jack.
