Rubio Maintains Support for Immigration Bill Despite Rushed Process
Breitbart ^ | 23 Jun 2013 | MATTHEW BOYLE

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is showing no signs of following through on his January promise to conservative talker Rush Limbaugh that he would walk away from the “Gang of Eight” if the process was not open, despite the fact that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is moving to speed through final passage of a completely repackaged loophole-and-handout-laden version of their immigration bill this week.

In a January 29 interview with Limbaugh, Rubio promised to walk away if immigration reform efforts became opaque.

"The next step in this process is to craft a starting point of legislation, and then after that it's gonna have to go through committees and people are gonna have their input,” Rubio told Limbaugh back then. “There's gonna be public hearings. I don't want to be part of a process that comes up with some bill in secret and brings it to the floor and gives people a take it or leave it."

“Excessive haste in the pursuit of a lasting solution is perhaps even more dangerous to the goals many of us share,” Rubio said in a press release at the time.

“We will need a healthy public debate that includes committee hearings and the opportunity for other senators to improve our legislation with their own amendments,” Rubio said in a follow-up release the next day in late March.

This guy is either planning to flip to the Democrat Party or he’s gonna end up selling insurance.

I’ve been out of the country on vacation for the past 17 days with little news . . . what are the odds of this passing the House? Thanks

Rubio has gone “Charlie Crist” on Floridians. They should initiate a recall drive.

I can see Rubio switching over to the DemocRAT Party once he helps get this thing rammed down our throats.

The bill gives Amnesty to 30 million illegals .tben those new citizens can bring in their extended family from the 3rd world( 50 million more immigrants).

They can use these new democrat voters to install a socialist state and so end freedom. And they do this on the 4th of July when freedom was born.

Stop Amnesty.

Tell congressmen we don’t want ANY bill passed, no matter what they promise. This bill is Amnesty for 30 million illegals, and a 1000 page bill that brings in 80 million 3rd world immigrants. The bill will destroy the U.S. and will turn the USA into a socialist state as is the democrats/Obama’s plan.

Call all remaining GOP members of the US Congress to back the efforts of those fighting back.

Call and say “I am calling to ask Congress member ___________ to support Michele Bachman, Steve King, and Louie Gohmert’s effort to demand that Speaker John Boehner stop trying to help Obama and the Democrats pass amnesty for illegal aliens. Please sign their petition to require the Speaker to honor the ‘Hastert Rule’! If the Senate passes an amnesty for illegal aliens, it will be important that the House refuses to pass any immigration legislation in 2013! Stop the amnesty legislation!”

I sent money to Rubio within a week after he entered the primary. At this point, I am with you, and would support a recall. This might be the biggest disappointment I’ve seen in politics (and it is a long list). I knew Rubio wasn’t great on this issue, and gave him all the benefit of the doubt. Now, he has completely lost me. He is blatantly lying to us, he’s voting with Shumer and Durbin on every common sense amendment. He’s full 100% committed to every bad part of this bill.

Rubio is politically dead to me. I won’t vote for him again. He is no better than Nancy Pelosi or Reid in his behavior during the past 60 days.

“I can see Rubio switching over to the DemocRAT Party once he helps get this thing rammed down our throats.”

Whomever offers him the most money.

Remember, Rubio had ‘money problems’ most of his adult life. He can be bought.

It’s almost like the obamacare thing...they’re bound and determined to pass it despite knowing the American people don’t want it. They act like globalists and not servants of the American people - community/country organizing on a global scale is more like.

Free medical care for all these new people. But no mammograms or PSAs or knee replacements for citizens.

Rubio is the soon to be former Senator from Fla. Half the people who voted for him in 2010 will never vote for him again. You should see his Facebook page.

Yep.

I used to really like this guy. It’s one thing to take an unpopular position but be upfront about it (Ted Olson, for example, with gay marriage)- it’s a completely different thing to flat out lie to people and to take them for granted.

I consider anyone who votes for RINO-ubio in the next election is a worthless piece of Obamastuff.

All bloggers please make sure we know of conservative challengers for RINO-ubio’s spot so that we can support them.

And RINO-ubio can shove his bill up his smelly Obama.
