Sarah Palin rips Rubio on immigration
The Hill ^ | June 24, 2013 | By Cameron Joseph

Posted on 06/24/2013 1:17:12 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Sarah Palin criticized Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) by name on Monday for the Senate immigration bill. Palin, in a lengthy Facebook post, blasts the bill as "amnesty," says it won't secure America's borders and compares the Senate's process toward passing it to Democrats' passage of ObamaCare in 2010.

She criticized Rubio and other "amnesty suppoters" for opposing an amendment sponsored by Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) that would have required the completion of more of the border fence before illegal immigrants could receive registered provision immigrant status.

"It's beyond disingenuous for anyone to claim that a vote for this bill is a vote for security," Palin wrote. "Look no further than the fact that Senator Rubio and amnesty supporters nixed Senator Thune's amendment that required the feds to finally build part of a needed security fence before moving forward on the status of illegal immigrants who've already broken the law to be here," she wrote. "This bill isn’t about fixing problems; it's about amnesty at all costs."

The Monday post comes just hours after she posted an article highlighting Rubio's 2010 comments that an "earned path to citizenship is basically code for amnesty," deriding him as a flip-flopper. The attacks are a sign that should Rubio run for president, she could emerge as a vocal detractor of his campaign.

Palin, now a Fox News contributor who continues to hold sway with conservative activists, warns that the bill will lead to a conservative revolt against both Democrats and centrist Republicans in the 2014 elections.

‘Flip-flops like this’: Sarah Palin calls out Sen. Rubio for supporting amnesty

Sarah Palin @SarahPalinUSA:
Politicians wonder why we can't trust them? Campaign flip-flops like this and carve-out bribes in the Amnesty... http://fb.me/2IsL1uspC

Palin’s tweet links to a story from TownHall.com detailing Sen. Marco Rubio’s (D-Fla.) flip-flop over amnesty for illegal immigrants .

During a debate with opponents Rep. Kendrick Meek and Gov. Charlie Crist, candidate Rubio argued that giving illegal immigrants an “earned path to citizenship,” which Crist, Sen. John McCain and former President George W. Bush had advocated, is basically amnesty.
Rubio, who won that 2010 election, is now the leading Republican in the U.S. Congress pushing for illegal aliens to...

Not a good day for Rubio. Glenn Beck, who has given him ample air time in the past pretty much disowned (if not publicly denounced) him on his radio show this morning.

Glad to hear it. I quit subscribing to GBTV because Glenn was championing Rubio so much months ago. When I cancelled, it wrote I was cancelling because by endorsing Rubio, Glenn was endorsing amnesty. And I couldn't support that stance. Maybe I'll resubscribe now...

Michelle Malkin rightly said the issue is not secure the border first, it’s “secure the border. Period.”

I like that. We should not be debating a path to citizenship for law breaking border jumpers at all. Not now. Not ever. Enforce the law. Secure the borders!!

It’s time our lawmakers remember that we are a sovereign nation of laws. This bill ignores that, and ignores the will of the people.

Sarah is spot on.

I haven't heard much from her about amnesty - in fact, during the campaign with McAmnesty, I thought she as all for it.

But she matches my philosophy on this precept by precept. Way to go, Sarah!

Doughtyone made a mistake imo. we all do . just ribbing him on debate we had. it's no big deal. He is right on stopping the immigration bill.

DoughtyOne HAS done a lot to fight against Amnesty. He's a good guy

Well you can’t rib him unless you ping him.

Doughtyone has done primo work for the conservative cause, and 8 years of that was before you even showed up here.

If he even bothers to respond to you, he will most likely tell me he doesn’t need anyone to help him.

You should hope he doesn’t respond.

Yep. Beck let Rubio have it, saying Rubio had essentially deceived the voters, and was showing his true colors siding with Schumer over the people who got him elected. It was some of the harshest criticism I’ve heard yet, and Beck was very clear about his disappointment because of how much he had liked and supported Rubio.

Not pretty much, absolutely. Rush was out for a funeral today so will have to wait until tomorrow for him to finally dump him.(hopefully)

Thanks for the details.

I'll definitely pitch re-subscribing to GBTV when hubby gets home tonight. Although we don't have time to watch it much, I like to support his new media, devoid of liberalism. Now that I know Glenn is on our side on this most-important issue.

Now, Hannity and Rush - who have been also cheerleading this traitor RINO, need to say the same. (Won't hold my breath though.)

Thank you for all the comments.  I don't care if they're good or bad.  I don't really matter much in the overall scheme of things.

What does matter is the health and good standing of our republic.  To that end, it matters a great deal what our heros stand for, and how clear it is what they stand for.

I have never ducked a certain individual's threads.  I merely leave their supporters alone most of the time.  I still think it is healthy to raise issues from time to time, asking folks to do some soul-searching.  About ten days ago, I entered two threads for the first time this year, holding people's feet to the fire.  That is my job.  It is supposed to be every Conservative's job.

At times it is said that I attack our own more than I attack Obama.  After reading 20,000 to 1 complaints against Obama here, perhaps some will understand why I don't believe another voice is needed on that topic.  Some won't.

At times it is said I am too hard on our own.  It is our own that will be the only people who fight back against people like Obama.  They must be sound, or they do us no favors by fronting for our beliefs.  We have seen all too many of them actually willing to push Leftist legislation.  It is NOT my duty to ignore this, and be still in the presence of yet another person who claims to believe as we do, while I remain unconvinced of it.

My recent comments about a certain political figure addressed their last known stance on Undocumented Democrats, their legal residency, pathway to citizenship, and the ability to work here.  Specicially I stated I didn't see why they would object to the current immigration bill winding it's way through Congress, because their last known statements seemed to mirror this bill in a number of ways.  I made these comment prior to this figure saying they don't support the current bill.  And while what they have said does comfort me, it causes me to be perplexed none the less.

Folks, it is my duty to stand up for what is right.  It is also my duty to make sure as many people as possible are subjected to reasoned thought that may go against the current and therefore must be heard. It is vitally important that people with a voice explain in detail what good policy is.  If I had the high visibility that certain people who are popular here have, it would be even more important for me to get "truth" out.

Enter into this situation a person who has favored instant legalization through registration, a pathway to citizenship, and work permits.  I can hear this person say it with my own ears, if I want to.  And yet, this person has now stated they don't support the current immigration bill.

If my policy had been one thing, and then it became another thing, wouldn't it be my duty to explain why?  Wouldn't it be best for my followers and others to be able to follow what line of reasoning led to this objection, change of direction, or non-change of direction?

How would I motivate others to change their minds and follow my lead, if I didn't explain what transition took place for me?

This is all I have been saying since this person came out and objected to the current immigration bill.  Why?  What has changed?

I want to know if this is akin to Romney saying he doesn't support Obamacare and wants to replace it with his own plan.  I don't want someone I support saying they don't like this immigration bill, and want to replace it with a better one of their own.  What we have on the books right now, is sound and enforcable.  We just need to do it.

So Conservatives, in conclusion I would only ask that you hold our leaders feet the fire in the same manner you hold mine to that fire.

I will always attempt to be as frank and honest with you as I can.  I will leave no doubt where I stand.  I will try to be fare to our candidates.  I only aske them to be fare with us.

Where do you stand on undocumented democrats?
Do you still support instant legalization through registration?
Do you still support a pathway?
Do you still support them remaining here and working?

If the answers to all these are yes, or even if they are not, plase explain with enough clarity that nobody will wonder where you stand with regard to these people, and the American people you wish to represent.

We have 40 million U. S. Citizens out of work.  Is there any compassion for them?

Is it compassionate to U. S. Citizens to countenance a fix to help undocumented democrats, before fixing what ails us first?

I am tired.  I have been hawking this issue for 20 years.  I've seen it gamed every which way it could be.

It's all very simple really.

Do we wish to remain a sovereign republic, or do we wish to simply give up and hand the keys to it over to foreign nationals?

Clarity is not our enemy folks.  It's the last gasp of true loyalists to this nation.

Are you with me Sarah?  I'd like to know.

Stop Amnesty.

Tell congressmen we don’t want ANY bill passed, no matter what they promise. This bill is Amnesty for 30 million illegals, and a 1000 page bill that brings in 80 million 3rd world immigrants. The bill will destroy the U.S. and will turn the USA into a socialist state as is the democrats/Obama’s plan.

Sarah changed her mind, in fact she wrote a long article yesterday about why she is against amnesty for illegals..its posted somewhere here, its a great article and it explains her position on the issue.
Unfortunately we have too many RINOS in the Senate so unfortunately illegals are going to get their amnesty, in many ways the GOP are the same as the Democrat party, just better dressed, but they share the same ideology

Our only hope is the House. And the real conservatives there.

We need to call and keep up the pressure. They all WILL be up for re-election next year. I’m making sure my congressman knows I will vote against him if he votes for amnesty under any name.

Is the GOP stupid or do they just have a death wish? They will never be elected again once these illegals get to vote.
