AYNOR The CEO of a Connecticut gun company moving to South Carolina because of the southern state's less restrictive gun laws says he is no longer sad, but angry he felt like he had to leave his home state.
PTR Industries CEO Josh Fiorini came to his company's new home in tiny Aynor on Monday for a celebration of the firm's move South. Fiorini says he had little choice but to move after Connecticut passed a new law banning assault weapons and ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. He says the law makes all the rifles PTR Industries makes illegal in the state.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and other local leaders joined Fiorini. PTR Industries plan to hire an additional 100 workers, more than doubling its workforce.
All the desirable workers would head south for the higher paying jobs, leaving the North with lower quality workers to make inferior quality items.
I know: great theory but..... Heck, all it takes is to keep the ball rolling, or companies moving south....
And do you want the left wingers going south too, those that “want the jobs” but HATE Southern culture..
Mixed blessing, j.s.
The South has risen...................
Potatoes.
It's something.
Skiing on snow Vs Skiing on water...............
That’s great if they’re a potato chip manufacturer, not so great if they’re anything else. :P
AND the Giant Palouse Earthworm. Top that!
Hoo Booii! I got a mess of robins in the backyard that would go to WAR over that bugger!
I’m going to tell my son, move south young man.
Kel-tec is in FL.
Their .380 is my amex card. Guaranteed for life.
Don’t even know it’s in your pocket.
They passed on Texas ?
It’s still a good move.
TT
Yeah, they passed on TX. I really don’t get that. I’m sure that SC’s business climate is better than CT, but I don’t think it is as good as TX or a number of other states. Kahr Arms is moving their headquarters to PA due to gun grabbing laws in NY. I really don’t get that one given PA’s corporate income taxes. PA has great gun laws, or lack thereof, but that isn’t the sole reason to make a move.
Talking to a few folks I know in CT, a big draw was the driving distance. A good portion of the workforce is relocating to SC, and you can get up to CT on I-95 in about a day. After a while, of course, it won’t matter, but in the meantime, there will be a myriad of family occasions that the folks will want to go back for. Thanks.

Curses. Foiled again.
Don’t worry, being from Australia it’s probably venomous. You still got the better fish bait.
