Newsroom layoffs at The Oregonian have topped 35 reporters, editors and photographers today as the paper reduces home-delivery days and cuts staff.

Among the more prominent names WW has confirmed The Oregonian has laid off are editorial columnist David Sarasohn, environmental reporter Scott Learn, and Multnomah County reporter Dana Tims.

Many staffers have begun posting their own layoff announcements on the web.

Sports reporter John Hunt wrote this morning on Twitter that he is flying home after being laid off with a phone call in Omaha, Neb., where he was covering the Oregon State Beavers baseball team in the College World Series.

Awesome news!
I hope everybody associated with the Democrat “mainstream” newsrooms loses their jobs, their homes, and their families. For what they have done to my country, they deserve nothing less.

People from India write - and they'll write cheap.

Since the MSM backs illegals, might as well bring over a few hundred thousand writers from India - those willing to 'write' for $15,000 a year and a promise of citizenship and Social Security for their parents, brother and sisters. And of course they can be paid under that table like the rest of the illegals.

I'm sure reporters won't mind competing with Indian illegals.../s

The other paper was the Journal. My dad got both of them plus two from Southern Oregon (Roseburg & Grants Pass). After we read them he took them by motor car on the railroad to a man that lived alone in the middle of Cow
Creek canyon across the creek from the railroad. The only way across was by swinging bridge. We went there a few times and I walked the bridge as a youngster. You could see between the boards all the way to the creek and scared the pee out of me.

November 2008 I stopped subscribing to the Kansas City Red Star paper after 25 Years. I have not missed it once. So there is life after reading the Red Star paper. I am sure the folks in OR won’t even miss these leftist reporters.
