Kingston on Immigration: House Unlikely to consider Senate Bill
WSAV (GA) ^ | Jun 24, 2013 | JoAnn Merrigan

Posted on 06/24/2013 10:06:09 PM PDT by neverdem

Congressman Jack Kingston says he still believes immigration reform is important but doubts that House republicans will ever consider a bill from the Senate. "The Senate bill does not have enough border security measures," says Kingston. "Right now border security is a joke."

Kingston says he would vote for border security, an electronic verification system that would help keep track of the status of current immigrants and for some measure that would be a "pathway to legalization." Kingston says that is legalization, not automatically a pathway citizenship.

He says legalization would be a way to provide such things as a guest worker program. Kingston, who is currently running for U.S. Senate believes immigration reform is still important, but believes many of his constituents in Georgia's 1st district want what Kingston calls reasonable reform. "I think immigration is such a hot issue right now because a lot of people look at the current system and just see what's wrong with the government, how it can't enforce the laws it has on the books for one thing," Kingston told News 3.

It would be poetic justice. Plenty of House bills went nowhere in the Senate.

Let Chuck U threaten demonstrations. They're going to be in states with the illegals which are mostly already controlled by rats.

It depends on whether Boehner wants to keep his job. Drat!

It can only be hoped that Boehner has the defining moment of courage in his career and stops this abomination.

Rubio, Oh Rubio,

Why have you crossed that line?

The only pathway is back to your home country.

Then you get in line.

I’m sure Amnesty will die: just like Obamacare. :)

Not that I have high hopes for the crybaby, but it would be awesome if he walked out to the mike waving the bill and said “Hey, I’m sorry about telling you to send this over, but I thought it was the budget bill. That is the next and only thing we are doing in the House right now.”

Goodies for illegals is redistribution of wealth. PERIOD. A border fence Bill WITHOUT ANY AMNESTY WHATSOEVER is the ONLY good Bill! The only ‘REFORM’ we need is a president ENFORCING EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS INSTEAD OF OVERTURNING THEM TO CREATE THIS MESS.

The only pathway is back to your home country.

Then you just freaking stay there.

They won’t consider the Senate Bill, but that doesn’t mean they won’t come up with one of their own. That would spell doom if they pass any kind of immigration bill, no matter how good it is.

“Goodies for illegals is redistribution of wealth.”

Agree but it also involves a massive redistribution of peoples. The CIA/NSA did immigration and economic trends up to 2015 - don’t have the link - but should be easy to find. I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t match what we’re currently doing.

They voted for amnesty when our workforce participation rate is still in the toilet!

Senate Roll Call Vote

Here are our current Jane Fondas: Alexander (R-TN), Ayotte (R-NH), Chiesa (R-NJ), Collins (R-ME), Corker (R-TN), Flake (R-AZ), Graham (R-SC), Hatch (R-UT), Heller (R-NV), Hoeven (R-ND), Kirk (R-IL), McCain (R-AZ), Murkowski (R-AK), Rubio (R-FL) and Wicker (R-MS). They should go home and not come back.

The problem is: Jack Kingston is not in the House leadership. And he is just 1 of 435 members, if Boehner, as expected, drops the Hastert rule for post-conference immigration bill vote.

The pink tie, crybaby must be made to understand, without question, that the survival of the Republican Party depends on this issue. Not down the road but now.

If he puts through a bill that has "a pathway to citizenship" or legalization of status for illegals the base will leave the party.

I, and I believe most FReepers are more concerned with the survival of the Republic than the Republican Party.
