"To the elitist ruling country boys and gals this is all a game who like to protect their power and wealth"

This is what happens when people get lazy about their freedom, the crooks and "entitled" find their way to the top one way or another. It is human nature at it's worst just repeating. We let our guard down in just over 200 years. It just makes me sick...

It just makes me sick...

It used to bother me as well, but I've come to accept it as inevitable. In fact, it's not like we weren't warned that the republic was a short term project if not properly maintained.

In retrospect, the idea that a piece of paper would preserve essential liberties just because it says so is absurd. Now, we are going to have to pay the bill for our collective sloth.

It was only meant to keep moral people in check...just like the lock on your door. When history is reviewed, it will find that demoralization was the fire that destroyed our freedom...again.

I find it hard to believe that the Russians and Chinese have not forced Snowden to let them copy the contents of all flash drives and laptops he is carrying. Supposedly he carries 4 laptops.

So I would think by now the Russians and Chinese have a treasure trove of NSA secrets which is ironic because the NSA is so active and obsessed with gathering the secret electronic communications of Americans and other data.
____
____
According to a 2012 report, more than 4 million people have security clearances at some level, while 1.4 million – including 483,000 government contractors like Snowden – have “top secret” security clearance.

Hey, you’re not alone. To date I have been called a traitor to my country, unpatriotic, an Obama supporter, an Axlerod lackey, every schoolyard name you can think of and more. We won’t even get into the pix I get posted about me. Hell, I had one 2 days ago jump me for making things political ON FR...HELLO? It’s what FR IS!

For some reason, psuedocons (who demonstrate deserving that title by their actions) like to spout liberal dogma/talking points, call it conservatism and be ‘seen’ as being conservative.

Conservatism isn’t some deep philosophy. It’s basic. There is a right and a wrong, regardless of what some jacked up bunch of yahoos in DC determine ‘law’ to be.

But that simple truth aside, that does not stop the wannabee ‘hyperpatriots’ from exposing their liberalism at every opportunity and shouting ‘Look how big bad American I am!”

Pathetic idiots with sub 20 political IQs.
Bottom line: Conservatives cried for someone on the inside to expose the BS. Snowden did. Now some of those ‘conservatives’ scream TRAITOR! guaranteeing no one will ever make that mistake again. And showing why the ‘modern conservative’ cannot and should not be trusted.

Until FR and other genuinely conservative websites culls the wheat from the chaffe, it will only get worse.

A partial answer is that a lot of people here are not at all Conservative and they like big government just fine. A little intrusion from the NSA is OK with such folks.

Absolutely!

Ya got tens of millions on the fat bloated government payroll/pensions...These types are *everywhere*, including right here.

Obama doesn't want to pick a fight with Putin, he could snap obama in half like a twig. It's pretty sad when the Russians have become more conservative than their largest former adversary, and have to lecture the west about the evils of communism.

I understand that, from Hussein’s playpals, but there seems to be a large group of people here who unquestionably use that term to describe Snowden, and I’m trying to understand why.

I have observed there is a small, but very vocal group.

So is he a traitor if his only intent was blowing the lid on the government's rogue spying and watching of citizens in total disregard of the 4th amendment? I think I would reserve judment before making accusations like that.

That is unless you like being spied on. Geesh!!!!

Now that Obama has decided to arm the rebels in Syria, we’re at war with Russia, which is arming Bashar Assad’s side.

It’s like the Vietnam War, Russia vs. America, except this time it’s in the Middle East instead of the Far East.

Keeping Edward Snowden in the public eye allows Russia to present the bumbling, incompetent state of U.S. intelligence to any potential allies — Britain, France, etc. — who might be considering joining us in Syria.

It’s an enormous blunder that the Obama administration left its most sensitive intelligence information in the hands of a 29-year-old high school drop-out, then couldn’t prevent his blowing the whistle on the U.S.’s entire intelligence operation, and then couldn’t deal with the fall-out from the incident, nor even get the individual it believes is a dangerous traitor back into U.S. custody so he won’t spill the sensitive beans he’s supposedly carrying around with him.

What country would want to get involved in a war on the side of the U.S. under such a pathetic bunch of losers as the Obama administration has turned out to be?

The guy blows the whistle on our government's wanton and encroaching spying of honest citizens, and he is no hero? This brought to you by the same administartion that targets the Tea Party. (IRS) As far as I am concerned, Obama presents a bigger danger to our nation and is bigger enemy than Putin is..

Guess what....... you hold the same company as Dianne Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi, as they feel the same way as you. Proud?

I for one am going to reserve judgement until I found out what was disclosed. If it contains military information or strategies...then I will agree. Till then.............

They tried to instigate/start a war against ..(take your pick)and have the "right wing" do the dirty work. They harass and blackmail and/or takeover corporate interests that get too uppity or large.
