Snowden Didn’t Cross Russian Border - Foreign Minister

MOSCOW, June 25 (RIA Novosti) – Russia said on Tuesday that Edward Snowden, the former CIA employee wanted by the US for leaking state secrets, had not crossed the Russian border.

Snowden, who leaked details of a US surveillance program to newspapers in the US and UK earlier this month, was widely reported to have flown from Hong Kong to Moscow on Sunday, from where he was expected to fly to Ecuador, where he has reportedly requested asylum.

“I want to say right away that we have nothing to do with Snowden, or with his attitude to the American legal system, or with his movements around the world. He chose his own route, and we found out about it – like most people here – from the media,” Lavrov said at a press conference.

“He did not cross the Russian border,” the foreign minister said.

Numerous unconfirmed media reports had speculated that Snowden had flown to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport on Sunday but gone no further than the transit area, as he did not have a Russian visa. Staying in the transit zone of an airport would not constitute crossing the country’s border.

Wow, Obama and Putin have all of those expensive toys, and they don't know anything.

That’s intended sarcasm by Putin. Remember when Obummer said the same thing. Now Putin is using that ‘I dunno’ argument against Barry. Some sources told me that Putin really has a sense of humor. This could be one of those examples. If so, I think this comment is hilarious.

How does anyone know he was even on the flight from Hong Kong to Moscow?

Snowden Didn’t Cross Russian Border - Foreign Minister

Kind of humiliating for the USSA. The "big brother" government is so deeply entrenched in domestic surveillance that when someone leaves the borders they literally drop off the edge of the world.

For all we know.

I think it is a fitting play on the definitive meaning of “cross the Russian border”. Just like Clinton’s “the meaning of is.”

Pretty sure that Russia has facilities that are not Russia-proper territory, and they could easily be hosting him there.

Regardless, we have a bullsh!t President; he deserves a bullsh!t answer from Russia.

LOL...funny how they didn’t know anything about this until they read about it in the papers, just like Obama always says. That must be published in the updated version of Communist ploys.

But, but our king and his men have already chastized Rusiia and China for taking the sulprit in. Surely, they would not mislead us “masses”.

Snowden may have transited through Moscow but remained in the customs area at the airport. As such, he technically had not entered Russia.

“In Russia, Code copy YOU.”

No need to eat the poisoned mouse when you can clone the data in the cheese its carrying without it ever touching him.

Putin will play with the mouse only as long as doing so insults Odumbo, then I think he will feed them both to the cat.

he did not have a Russian visa.

About time someone with some sense wrote that. You have to have a visa to enter and they don't hand them out like candy. It takes time. Although if I were Putin, I'd have hand delivered him one pronto just to stick it to hussein. Some days I think Snowden is trying to out the gov and others I think he's their distraction for the scandals. Either way, it makes hussein and jarret look bad so all's good.
