Politico ^

Posted on 06/25/2013 1:51:08 PM PDT by Windy City Conservative

“America changes immigrants, and people will change, especially once they begin to become fully enveloped in the American economic experience. … Your views on these issues begin to evolve rapidly,” Rubio said. “The future of the conservative movement in America is to try to convince as many of our fellow Americans as possible that limited government and free enterprise is the best way forward for them and for our country.”

Sure, they'll change just like kids who go to college and come out flaming liberals. Only many of these immigrants already grew up as leftys.

Yep. They'll come here hungry and grateful and willing to pick tomatoes 14 hours a day for minimal pay. They they'll discover a thing called Welfare. Views evolve.

"Sen. Marco Rubio gave a lengthy defense of his work on immigration reform on Tuesday, telling a room full of journalists that he wasn’t in the debate to score political points or guarantee Republicans the Hispanic vote, but rather because it’s personal."

You are a United States Senator, Rubio. Your sworn duty is to defend the constitution, defend the nation, not carry out a personal agenda. You were elected by the people to defend against Obama's communist excesses. Traitor!

“The future of the conservative movement in America is to try to convince as many of our fellow Americans as possible that limited government and free enterprise is the best way forward for them and for our country.”

And we do that by importing millions of poor, illiterate, and unskilled. People dependent upon government largess, who refuse to adopt English as their language, and American cultural values as their own. People who unswervingly vote Democrat. Is that the party of limited government and free enterprise?

Not any more, Marco...not any more. They come here and clot in ghettos and barrios, refusing to assimillate while white liberals celebrate their “cultural diversity.”

LEGAL Hispanics in California are twice as likely to get government “benefits” as non Hispanics. Does that count as “fully enveloped in the American economic experience”?

It’s easier to change the views of those citizens who already live in America by exposing the Leftist in the DNC, academia, and the media as liars and deceivers who DO NOT HAVE THE INTERESTS OF THE UNDERCLASS AT HEART.

The DNC goal is to keep them dumb, poor (or in debt), and dependent.

Maybe, if you’re lucky, you can get a government job with a pension that kicks in after 20 years of active duty and pays out 90% of your final annual salary for life. So long as you didn’t work in a deadbeat Democrat town like Detroit that is filing for bankruptcy over empty promises.

I'm sure it's true - for less than 10% of Hispanic immigrants, legal or not.

Well, part of that may be due to the fact that non-Hispanics are heading east to get away from Mexifornia in larger numbers than Hispanics.

Absolutely right. If they tried this toward the authorities at home, they would get shot - now they've changed. :)

"America changes immigrants,"

Yes, but slowly. Which is why immigration (legal or illegal) needs to advance at a slower pace.

It IS true that "hispanics" whose families have been here for over 50 years are far more likely to vote Republican than recent arrivals......in fact, I wish someone would do a survey, I'd bet money that it's over 50%
