AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Wearing pink tennis shoes to prepare for nearly 13 consecutive hours of standing, a Democratic Texas state senator on Tuesday began a one-woman filibuster to block a GOP-led effort that would impose stringent new abortion restrictions across the nation's second-most populous state.

“We want to do whatever we can for women in this state,” said Sen. Kirk Watson of Austin, leader of the Senate Democrats.

That is of course except for the millions of female babies aborted..

“The Texas law is after 20 weeks and providing better medical care for the patients.”

Exactly! I’m willing to bet the vast majority of Americans oppose unlimited abortion. If someone truly wanted to keep abortion safe, legal, and rare, this law is perfectly reasonable. The left pushes too far if they think a significant percentage of Americans want partial birth or late term abortions or support killing children that survive an abortion attempt. Even for the pro-choice crowd, 20 weeks is plenty of time to make that “choice.”

We are told that this abuses victims of rape and incest. How many such victims wait until 20+ weeks to decide to terminate the pregnancy?

Democrats are shameless in using human shields to push a radical agenda.

the new rules are so draconian that women are going to be forced to head to drug war-torn Mexico to have abortions.

Won't that be ironic? "American" women running to Mexico to have an abortion and Mexican women doing whatever it takes to have their babies in Texas?

This is the last day of a special session called by the governor at the end of the regular session on May 27th. I know they’ve had more than one special session during redistricting in the past. Not sure what the rules are though on calling them or how many.

WIKI says he can call as many as he wants, don’t know the accuracy.

2.2 Special Session

After the biennial 140-day regular session has expired, the Governor can call
an unlimited number of special sessions. The governor decides what the legislature will work on during these special sessions.

Traditionally, governors called special sessions only during difficult times, like the
budget crisis of the mid-1980s when world oil prices had plummeted. However, the
mere threat of calling a special session often is enough to force the legislature to
focus on the policy areas of greatest concern to the governor. Generally, legislators
don’t like to stay in Austin past the end of the regular session because of their
part-time status. They have other jobs and careers, some in the far-flung reaches of
the state, which they put on hold while in session.

No Democrat will ever tolerate the existence of a single child.

Our tolerance for the existence of Democrats should be even lower...

Too many comments saying words to the effect, “If you don’t want an abortion then don’t get one” to whom I say, “If you don’t want to accept responsibility for creation of a human being, then get sterilized!”

Leftist vermin will have children whenever they feel like raping or abusing them. Children are toys to them so they will bring them to term when they feel like playing with a little flesh toy and kill the baby when it is unwanted. Leftists will never sterilize themselves but I fully support any and all sterilization efforts against these subhumans.

Saw this man of color on the news, but they didn’t show what he said before being escorted out.
Found what he said on statesman.com:

About 12:40 p.m., a demonstrator in the gallery began yelling about abortions being genocide. Mike Bradford of Austin was quickly ousted by troopers, but was not arrested.

“Abortions disproportionately affect African-Americans, and I see all these white women here opposing this (bill),” he told reporters outside the gallery. “They are killing innocent lives. Someone needs to say that. That’s why I am here.”

Also, I saw on the news Davis has received two warnings tos tay on topic...One more, and she will be shut down.
