WASHINGTON The Supreme Courts decision on the Voting Rights Act had an instant impact in Texas, where Attorney General Greg Abbott announced that the states photo Voter ID bill, blocked by federal judges last year, would take effect immediately.
Todays ruling ensures that Texas is no longer one of just a few states that must seek approval from the federal government before its election laws can take effect, said Abbott in a statement.

This is enormously GREAT news!!!! Demonicrats have been tauntingly saying that Texas will go "blue" in a few years. Well, this will definitely guard against this.

Why would anyone think Holder won’t sue Texas? He already sued Voter ID states leading up to the election, long after SCOTUS had already upheld Voter ID in April 2008.

It would be sweet if a certain district in Houston lost their current loon. But she'll figure out another way to cheat.

Thats where a bit of backbone comes in to play. If Holder wants to illegally sue Texas, then Texas can just tell him to go pound sand.

Demonicrats have been tauntingly saying that Texas will go "blue" in a few years. Well, this will definitely guard against this. Considering Houston's last mayor and mayoral contender (Bill White and Chris Bell) tried unsuccessfully to take higher office (Bell lost his Congressional seat during redistricting to a black Democrat), I have to wonder if Houston's lesbian mayor is being groomed for the national stage as well.
Lee P.Brown was an incompetent stooge who was propped up by the local media but even his failings couldn't be shielded by the end of his run. He'd only stand a chance at holding Sheila Jackson Lee's office.

Why would anyone think that Texas would give a sh!t if Holder sued? Trust me, we wouldn’t.

Not only should they tell Holder to pound sand, but they should encourage companies to build new refineries.

Now we just need to stop this amnesty bill.
Texas will probably move out primary up so Texans have a conservative voice in the primary process from now on.
Thank you AG Abbott. Run for Governor....you got my vote.

Sheila Jackson Lee...oh man, what a peach.

Actually IMO we need to clone him. The governor of Texas actually doesn’t have all that much authority. If Abbott is elected to that position then we have lost one of the best AG’s in the United States and there is no one to take his place.
