A bill that opponents claimed would virtually ban abortion in Texas failed to pass late Tuesday after lawmakers missed a deadline by just minutes.
There were chaotic scenes after a filibuster attempt fell just short and protesters cheered, clapped and shouted for the final 15 minutes as lawmakers tried to hold the vote before the session ended at midnight.
The filibuster by Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, lasted more than 10 hours but ended after three challenges to her speech were upheld.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, acting as Senate president, initially said the voting began just before midnight, NBCDFW.com reported, and several reports suggested that the bill had been passed and would go to Gov. Rick Perry. But Dewhurst later announced that the vote had been held too late.

Miami Florida local news just did a story on this, PRAISING, by name, the Democrat state senator in Texas that filibustered the bill.
Rick Perry ought to have a special session called....make the Demon Rat pro-infanticide politicians miserable.
I suspect that is exactly what he will do. The fillibuster prevented a couple of other bills from being voted on. He will call a special session and this will be the first bill up for vote unless this warped individual can fillibuster for two weeks. Then, the legislature can move on to the other priorites. I would hope he even add some pro-gun bills which have already passed the House to the next session just to piss off the lefties.
How does a vote get shouted down? Do they only do voice votes in Texas? Where was security to get the chanters out of the chamber?
In other words he’ll pull a “Harry Reid” and use their own tactics against them...
Notice the Democrats used a REAL FILIBUSTER to promote infanticide.
Keep the Republicans in town, wait til the pro-infanticide hag goes home, then call it.

I for one don’t see legalized abortion ever going away in this country; as elsewhere in the world, those who avail themselves of it are simply and systematically replaced by those who don’t.
Wendy Davis won her election by mailing out cards stating republicans are racist.

They view abortion as we view the 2nd Amendment, i.e. “shall not be infringed” in any way, even having licensed doctors, clean facilities, etc.
