36 killed after knife gang attacks China police station

Knife-wielding assailants killed nine policemen and 17 civilians in a bloody attack that only ended after 10 attackers were shot dead in western China early Wednesday.
At least three people were also injured during the early morning assault on the Lukqun Township in Xinjiang province, Chinese state media agency Xinhua reported.
If confirmed, it would be one of the bloodiest incidents in Xinjiang since nearly 200 people were killed in the regional capital, Urumqi, in 2009.

Dilxat Raxit, a spokesman for the Germany-based World Uyghur Congress, told The Associated Press that the conflict was triggered by the Chinese government's "sustained repression and provocation" of the Uighur community.
The Chinese are not the West and do not subscribe to liberal political correctness. To the person in China I heard the same response about islamic violence. They said we will kill them.
This is one area of Chinese affairs we should stay completely out of and let them deal with the problem in their own cultural ways.

I understand the point you are making, but regarding the thought about no/few guns in Asia, I was just reading a post in a forum from some anti-gun Brit living upcountry in Thailand, bemoaning the fact that every house in his village had a firearm of some sort.
A number of those are probably home made single shot shotgun shell or rifle cartridge “zip guns”.
