By A.D. 200, the Roman Republic was a distant memory. Few citizens of the global Roman Empire even knew of their illustrious ancestors like Scipio or Cicero. Millions no longer spoke Latin. Italian emperors were a rarity. There were no national elections.

Are the questions posed rhetorical? No, we are not going to survive. The only reason there aren’t widespread riots is that there is still food on the table. Also, in no way does today’s military resemble the heroes of WWII. Today’s military is politically correct, lacking the discipline or capabilities of that era.

The Roman Empire spanned over 2000 years from 753 BC until 1453 AD. Where did you get your info?

This is getting a bit ridiculous.

Look Obama won the presidency, twice. But he’s going to be replaced next time.

We’re likely to increase our presence in the Senate next time (2014).

Why is everyone so negative?

PS: Buy American.

America as a nation-state will remain a conglomerate of ethnic, social and political blocs as it has always been but the original Latin verse: “E Pluribus Unum” will no longer be the case.

It is not fair to always compare the young country called the USA to ancient Rome. There are some similarities yes but what befell Rome does not necessarily have to happen the the States but it may.

What held the nation together was the core nucleus, the family. The man-woman union. The family was the glue upon which everything sticks. As the family evolves into a Norman Rockwell nightmare, so will go the nation, albeit slowly.

What was, will not be in the future but who knows maybe a whole new epoch of Western humanity is being born (bad term?) out of all those Gay parades and the dominance of dog ownership over rearing children...

I’d like to think that every conservative understands that they need to get out and vote as if their life depends on it, but I’m not convinced enough conservatives believe that yet.

There seems to be much more apathy on our side than theirs. Even the low information lemmings get out to vote!

Yes, likely by Hitlary, but I do not put it past the idiots to let him have another term. “God for life”.
Even if you have the Senate, what good is that going to do.
Today’s Repugs are nothing more then Marxist lite.
There is no Republican party as I grew up with.
Being negative does not bother me now, as I have already bailed out.
You overlook the core problem...It’s the people, stupid.
Marxist education and media has, and still is destroying America. It is going to get only worse.

So why is the United States not experiencing something like the rioting in Turkey or Brazil, or the murder of thousands in Mexico? How are we able to avoid the bloody chaos in Syria, the harsh dictatorships of Russia and China, the implosion of Egypt or the economic hopelessness now endemic in Southern Europe?

America is terrorized into inactivity.

Jackboots practice busting down civilian doors to the applause of bystanders during "practice" sessions explained as possible terrorist scenereos

'Course, they've been doing that for years which explains why no one knew (?) about the Boston bombers ... especially now that we know every jot and tittle of American communication has been listened to, written down and/or archived.

Thinking people really scratch their heads wondering how did we get this way and what can we do.

We're presently in the midst of wording ourselves into a stupor ... the reasonisbecausethe firstelementoftheseconddegreeof .... for paragraphs and paragraphs when, the reason we're dieing is because we've been frightened into doing nothing about our death

We look in the mirror and see; "Yup .. looks like terminal cancer to ME ... guess I'll get a latte' and hit the computer for a while"

Sometimes a patriotic soul will write something that spurs our imaginations and spirits and we think, "Y'know .. someone should DO something about ___________

But nothing happens.

Why?

'Cause we're afraid.

We're afraid it'll cost us a bundle in lawyers fees if we did somrthing that demanded a trial (That we're SURE we'd win .... if we had the money ... which we don't)

We're afraid we'll be the only one that might feel to act as we do (did) and NOW look at you stupid ... a life sentence ... for what?

We're afraid we'll get seriousdly hurt or killed doing whatever it is.

And now comes the hardest part for me .. the writer of this so-called logic ...

So what ?

If I die, I know where I'm going, so what stops me?

I love my life and my wife and my kids and my existence more than I love freedom and liberty and it shames me to say it.

That's it in a nutshell .. I'm afraid to lose what I have for something I'm pretty sure I won't like.

God help me.

I (strongly) disagree.

I believe Palin will replace Obama, and we will win the Senate in 2014.

Obama has overstepped.

Like Rome, America apparently can coast for a long time on the fumes of its wonderful political heritage and economic dynamism

Only the shell of our republic remains. We still have states, legislative/executive/judicial branches, a Constitution/Bill of Rights, and elections. But so what?

Congress, always looking over its shoulder at the electorate, is more often than not, happy to be Obama's rubber stamp. Legislation introduced by his Senate sycophants on a Friday and voted on Monday? No problem for the World's Greatest Deliberative Body. To cross Obama is to risk jihad from his adoring media.

Our judiciary, once concerned with guilt and innocence, is now a secular, yet religious court, black-robed oracles wiser than the ancients at Delphi. Isolated from the legitimate political processes, five of them typically make law on the fly.

Our president is also a lawgiver, yet is unattached to the law he swore to uphold. Like the black-robes, via his unelected commissars, he can make law as well.

The Roman historian Tacitus wrote of the second Roman emperor: "Tiberius often as he left the Senate-House used to exclaim in Greek; "How ready these men are to be slaves."

Mass voter turnout on our side that overwhelms voter fraud on thiers will save the day. Also the first order of business is to pen all of zero’s executive orders over 8 years out of existance. null and void!

Ted Cruz is too smart to ever get his name linked with Sarah Palin, let alone as #2.

Palin is toast, she was crucified by the media and Hollywood put the nails in her political coffin with that film deriding her. She's history unfortunately painted by the media as an Edith Bunker (RIP). To many she is a dingbat and forget about facts and intelligence, Bush was portrayed in the same exact way, as a dork. No, she doesn't stand a chance to make it to the WH...sorry.
