Skip to comments.Gov. Perry: Wendy Davis hasn't 'learned from her own example'

Perry, who has called for a second special session of the state legislature to pass the measure, told those gathered that it was lawmakers duty to prevent abortions, regardless of the conditions into which a child may be born.
Even the woman who filibustered in the Senate the other day was born into difficult circumstances," Perry said. "It's just unfortunate that she hasn't learned from her own example that every life must be given a chance to realize its full potential and that every life matters."

Ouch! That is going to leave a mark!!!
It was interesting reading all the unaborted opinions.
This Texas Senate abortion fight was lost in the national news this week and people across the nation were not able to witness the evil of Wendy Davis or the ineptitude of David Dewhurst who did very little to stop the pro abortion filibuster. She should have been stopped and the rioters should have been expelled for the Capitol.
Give ‘em Hell, Rick!
Maybe he ain’t ready to be President (or maybe) but I like this Governor.
Rick is a GODSEND!!! Wendy Davis is EVIL INCARNATE!! KILL BABIES...KILL MORE BABIES!! 55 MILLION DEAD INNOCENT BABIES ISN”T ENOUGH FOR THESE DEVILS!!
Perry sure sounds good. Is he going to be the compromise candidate?
“...Wendy, IMO, has a real hatred that she wasn’t aborted by her mother, or that she couldn’t abort her daughter....”
Exactly. Like many that suffer from the incurable, chronic, mental disease known as liberalism, she shows all the symptoms: self-loathing, spiteful, hating the innocent. I just wish these libs would off themselves without taking any innocent with them. I know it’s wishful thinking, but still, they are mentally deranged beyond help.
And that is why Dewhurst is still in Austin and not as a U.S. Senator. He had the power to stop this filibuster, clear the gallery and take a vote Tuesday night. He wimped out.
I’m not familiar with Texas Politics, but plan on moving there. My question is, how could Dewhurst have stopped the filibuster? And does he have the authority to get those witches out the lobby? If so, how strong is it?
I don’t think that Zombies bruise. Bob
Dewhurst will have three conservative opponents in the March 4 primary; he can win in a divided vote, but there could be a runoff with one of the conservatives. Then he might be hard-pressed to hold on. Dewhurst is a GWB fixture.
Heard ABCnews on the radio. They misinform the public on this legislation and give only Planned notParenthood account on its impact.
Its refreshing to see a Republican politician take a stand for life and for regulating abortion clinics.
Kudos to Gov Perry.
Dan Patrick is going to run against him. That’s funny since Patrick supported Dewhurst over Cruz. Maybe he wanted Dewhurst in DC so he could run in a special election. Sure doesn’t take them long to start looking out for themselves.
“Dewhurst who did very little to stop the pro abortion filibuster”
There was little he could do. If you disagree, prove me wrong.
“the rioters should have been expelled for the Capitol”
Some were. But they didn’t start going nuts until near midnight, and by the time they were cleared, it was too late.
So now we have a new session, where not only the anti-abortion bill will pass, but other bills the left doesn’t want will be brought up.
He can in times of external interference that prevent procedure “stop the clock” until the interference is rectified then start the clock again.
He also has a group of state troopers that can clear the gallery.
