Defense attorney Don West quickly established that Jeantel was 18 at the time of the shooting not 16, that she had not been hospitalized, and that she was not Martin’s girlfriend. He also confirmed that she lied about the hospitalization under oath,
West walked Jeantel through the various stories she had been telling since first going public, emphasizing their discrepancies.
The most significant of those discrepancies was her claim in later interviews of having heard Martin yelling “get off, get off” once he dropped the phone after a physical exchange with Zimmerman.
West made a strong case that these later additions, like much of her story, was manufactured. Jeantel’s inability to keep her story straight reinforced that suggestion.
The fact that state prosecutors first interviewed Jeantel under oath at the home of Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, with Fulton sitting next to her on the couch did not reassure anyone that her testimony was freely given.
In a spectacularly un-coached moment, Jeantel explained that when Martin first saw Zimmerman eying him, he called Zimmerman a “creepy a– cracker.”
It may have been Martin who was doing the racial profiling. When asked, Jeantel denied that the word “cracker” had a racist implication.
On day two West bored into Jeantel’s many inconsistencies in time, space and motive. Although West did not emphasize the state’s future problem at this stage, Jeantel confirmed that Martin had several minutes to return to the house where he was staying – roughly 100 yards from the point where he started running – but never went there.

But, people from her culture probably see her testimony as “compelling”, or some concept that means compelling without actually knowing what the word means.

Listening, I don’t think he harangued her at all,
just tried to get the actual sounds coming out of her mouth to be intelligible and understood by the court and the jury.
Which is great because Dems don’t believe in actually reading legislation prior to voting...

While I largerly agree with you, I have a bone to pick with Rush over his promulgation of the “low information voter” concept.
He attributes this group to not being informed about the truth. This implies, he thinks, that if they had the needed information they’d react rightly. I whole heartedly disagree.
While they aren’t being informed of the truth, they could give a rat’s patootie about it as long as they get their iPhones, WICs, TANF, SNAP, Section 8 and EITC. They would fight to the death on the devil’s side if these entitlements were removed - they just don’t care about morals, right, ethics and hard work - they haven’t since LBJ I’d say.
And if you need more evidence about low-information ‘citizens’ reacting rightly if only they were told the truth, I respectfully submit to you the criminal case against OJ Simpson.

And their first resort, often, is to denigrate those pointing out the deficiencies of their beliefs as inferior or benighted.
Has she been given the ASBO civil order for sure? I’d have thought this would have been a topic of discussion in her cross-examination.

She said under oath that she can't read, so how does she text or 'Tweet'?
Perhaps the defense attorney missed a possible opportunity to open the door on her tweets with that conflicting testimony.
Dana Perino is an airhead. The more she expounds on a subject, the more I wonder how she got so far. Probably because of her looks—she is very cute.
The women jurors are there to discern the truth.That is what they are sworn to do. I expect they take their role as seriously as any man would.
If “sisterhood” is going to rule the day,and send an innocent man to prison, then they are airheads also.
