Whatever your opinion of Obamacare, theres no denying that its full implementation next year presents a major challenge for many businesses across the country. Starting in 2014, firms of more than 50 employees will be required to offer health insurance to their full-time employees defined as those that work more than 30 hours per week or pay a penalty. These expenses, along with added costs of complying with the law, will force many businesses to raise prices or reduce profit margins, two things business leaders never enjoy doing.
While these mandates will increase costs for many businesses across the country, there actually are others that will benefit from the law. Pharmaceutical and insurance companies were brought onboard early in the healthcare reform effort by the the Obama Administration, lured by the prospect of tens of millions of new customers who would be required to buy health insurance. But if you believe the stock market, another industry that stands to gain from Obamacare implementation is the temporary staffing industry.

Back in the days of Free Enterprise, Prosperity, and Low Unemployment, Businesses used to voluntarily pay a portion of an employee’s Health Care Insurance. This was considered a “Benefit”, and it was used as an inducement to attract the best and brightest (Salary + Benefits=Total Compensation Package). Often, a prospective employee was given a choice between two or more “Plans”, HMO’s, Blue Cross, PPO’s, etc) and could choose a plan that best fit the needs of their family. The important thing was that the Company offered a Plan as a way to attract People to the job, and keep people who were good workers. It was voluntary, and it WORKED.
Of course, leftists don’t like free enterprise systems that WORK. They have to “fix” them.
So ObamaCare isn’t about health care? It’s about BIG business making MORE money? It’s always about the money.
Virtually everyone who is working in France is working as a temp. You don’t dare hire anyone full-time in a country where the mandatory benefits cost more than the base pay, and you are never, ever allowed to fire them.
One of the biggest temp agencies in the world is Randstad, which is Dutch. Small wonder.
They'll get all the Americans who the companies fire. (When they hire the wetbacks and ex-illegals who CAN work 40+ hours without healthcare.)
Since being laid off in 2009 (anyone remember what happened that year?), I’ve bounced from one contract job to another. “Permanent” positions are few and far between in my industry. I put “permanent” in quotes because a friend of mine was laid off from three different permanent positions in the last year.
Fortunately, I was graced to have started a side business in 2007, which may soon be self-sustaining. Thank God. It’s an absolute disaster out there.
APNewsBreak: Librarians to help with health law

CHICAGO (AP) Librarians are being recruited to help people sign up for insurance under the nation’s health care overhaul. Federal officials say up to 17,000 libraries will be part of the effort.
The undertaking will be announced Sunday in Chicago at the American Library Association conference. Federal officials released the information early to The Associated Press.
Business owners, it might sound like a good deal to hire part-time, temp workers, but get ready for endless headaches. Because of lack of experience and no company loyalty, work won't get done unless you or a trusted, full-time manager is there to supervise.
Sure, you can easily get rid of slackers, but then you get to start over training new ones.
