The Army is blocking all access to The Guardian newspaper's reports about the National Security Agency's sweeping collection of data about Americans' email and phone communications, an Army spokesman said Thursday. The Monterey (Calif.) Herald reported that employees at the Presidio of Monterey, an Army public affairs base about 100 miles south of San Francisco, were unable to gain access to The Guardian's articles on former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and his professed leaks of classified information about the intelligence programs.

We need Radio Free America.
Use “Government” Equipment accept “Government” “Rules”! It’s on EVERY “Government” Log-In.
Tokyo Rose would be a celebrity today, feted by Hollywood and honored in DC with a great big ol’ WH Dinner.
The obama administration is turning the US into a new soviet union it seems. Welcome to the USSA
LOL, Turning ? Where have you been ?
If you have a security clearance, you are not supposed to access classified documents if you do not have a “need to know”.
DSS has issued this warning to contractors with security clearances not access or download documents on contractor (employer) owned equipment.
Rove loves where the Republicans are, they get all the perks, with none of the responsibility.
Stuck in a 1950’s era sitcom...
Aw c’mon ...it’s a joke...
And best of all — Rove gets to represent the GOP (and conservatives) on FOX. Rove’s Republicanism: “Tails we win, Heads you lose.”
Yep, this has always been the case when using government equipment. Any hint that they are blocking access in the home/private environment is another matter entirely and outside of the bounds of the Constitution (not that I trust this administration and the National Socialist Democrat Party).
I worked in a PAO during the enlisted Marine part of my career and they do not fall under all of the same rules as the outside press.
Nice work,if you can get it.
They want to hide the treason so that the Army doesn’t know about it. If they don’t know about it, it’s not treason, right? Therefore, no need to defend against domestic enemies... right?
Turdblossom must work that "backroom" awfully hard.
I’m sure the NSA could be easily harnessed to “filter” all ‘net content.
Me thinks the Pentagon is being run by Obama’s commissars.
“Im sure the NSA could be easily harnessed to filter all net content.”
It’s only a matter of time it seems ... :-(
Sorry folks. It is proper to block access to classified. The fact that it is in the news does not properly declassify the program.
Will it make a difference? Not much.
Odds on a homosexual having given the order?
100% as they emanate from the CIC.
Didn’t the gov block FOX for a while? Home of the once free and little brave.
I’ve seen this being discussed elsewhere. It’s being g driven by Executive Order 13526 (in case anyone wants to go look it up) and the bit about how disclosure does not equal declassification. IOW clearance holders (and Gvt systems) are still obligated to treat the material under the various classification rules. Proper authorization and need to know still apply.
FWIW anyways. I’d suggest people go out and read that EO ...
What’s next ? One day they’ll declare FR a classified national security issue.
