‘It’s just like Nazi Germany,’ says resident.
HIGH RIVER — RCMP revealed Thursday that officers have seized a “substantial amount” of firearms from homes in the evacuated town of High River.
“We just want to make sure that all of those things are in a spot that we control, simply because of what they are,” said Sgt. Brian Topham.
“People have a significant amount of money invested in firearms ... so we put them in a place that we control and that they’re safe.”
That news didn’t sit well with a crowd of frustrated residents who had planned to breach a police checkpoint northwest of the town as an evacuation order stretched into its eighth day.
“I find that absolutely incredible that they have the right to go into a person’s belongings out of their home,” said resident Brenda Lackey, after learning Mounties have been taking residents’ guns. “When people find out about this there’s going to be untold hell to pay.”
About 30 RCMP officers set up a blockade at the checkpoint, preventing 50 residents from walking into the town. Dozens more police cars, lights on, could be seen lining streets in the town on standby.
Officers laid down a spike belt to stop anyone from attempting to drive past the blockade. That action sent the crowd of residents into a rage.
“What’s next? Tear gas?” shouted one resident.
“It’s just like Nazi Germany, just taking orders,” shouted another.
“This is the reason the U.S. has the right to bear arms,”

So the RCMP will return the guns after people provide proof of ownership after the police stole the guns and the proof of ownership is probably destroyed by the flood. How many of the guns will never be returned...
Might not be long before we suffer the same fate ...

Very true. I like all the people that say that they’ll pry my guns from dead, cold fingers. I feel for them, but when push comes to shove, will they really be willing to do it.
There are a couple of things that, we as folks that love our freedom, can hope for.
1. that we somehow figure out a way to take back control and start fixing this sh*t, by getting rid of people like Reid, Hoyer, Pelosi, Menendez, etc
OR
2. that if we can’t do it through elections, that when the time comes, the cops and soldiers stand up to these oppressors and tell ‘em to go fu*k themselves. Which would bring us right back to #1.
But, after seeing some of that footage from Katrina and the gun grab, I’m not so sure #2 will happen. We’ll just have to wait and see, unfortunately.
Meaning, if one didn't comply with 1995 Firearms Act by going to the nearest RCMP office to register their firearms by the 01/01/2003 deadline, they're SOL.
Are you talking about the same government that can't keep IEDs from killing troops in Afganistan? That government?
Do the logistics numbers. There's no way the feral gooberment can confiscate all firearms in the US. Period. The numbers aren't there.

possession is 9/10 of the law.
the cops could have not unlawfully stopped people from going into their own homes under color of law, could not have perfromed illegal searches and seizures, and not stolen these items, but instead could have asked the same citizens for proof of ownership.
Are they going to start hauling away other appliances and tools and vehicles anyone has on their property, and then saying we’ll return them once they prove they own them?

What I wonder each day as we see this erosion of freedom is where is the unified opposition? The left is well funded and organized to lie cheat and steal.
Why is there not an organized right that is well funded and organized to preserve freedom?
We all come on here and scream and JimRob has created a great forum for it but at some point we’ll wish we had done more.
This is not a personal attack but only to point out we need massive financial and moral leadership to create a new party...maybe... but at the very least a powerful movement for recreating what God intended this nation to be.
We are the “silent majority”. As said many times.
We need to unify financially and spiritually. Whether you are Baptist, Catholic or Mormon? Stop the infighting and unify on the US Constitution and freedom.
We can all argue theology until we’re in the grave but freedom is the real issue and it is why this country was founded.
