Yes, that is correct, and I forgot to post that. Thanks for reminding me. They are not getting the return that they want or perhaps need. I don’t know that the merchant fee actually covers all the expenses they have with respect to account maintenance.
There’s a big push to go paperless, not only statements, but they would like for you to stop writing checks too. For sure, they are not optimizing their return with respect to the customers that pay in full every month.
It’s kinda like a restaurant, who wants everyone to spend 15 dollars minimum in order to cover overhead and make a profit.
They aren’t happy when you order the 3 dollar side salad and a glass of water. Even if you are sitting at a table for two, that’s 3 bucks vs 30 bucks potential. Course they will try to upsell you regardless of your order.
Of course, if the restaurant is not full, any warm body should be welcome.LOL
