The federal judge issued the temporary injunction a day after a US appeals court ruled that the Obamacare requirement would create a religious burden for the Christian business owners.

A federal judge in Oklahoma issued a preliminary injunction Friday blocking the Obama administration from enforcing its contraceptive mandate against the craft chain store Hobby Lobby.

When this issue gets to the Supreme Court John Roberts will put a stop to such regressive nonsense and get everyone on board the Obamacare train.

"Establishment of Religion, or the free exercise, thereof"

is the exact language of the U.S. Constitution (I'm not a Constitutional Scholar, like The Messiah, though), as I recall from my old school days, and if this Obamacare bullshit is NOT "Preventing the Free Exercise, therof" I don't know what is!

The USSC did NOT rule on the Constitutionality of THAT!

The Honorable Roberts will insist that this is a tax and therefore not an option to refuse to participate. /sarc

Judge Heaton reviewed pleadings and heard oral argument via a telephone conference on Friday before issuing a two-page order.

“The court concludes plaintiffs have made a sufficient showing to warrant the issuance of a temporary restraining order in the circumstances existing here,” the judge wrote.

Honorable Roberts!

Yes, like any decent person would ever find anything honorable about Roberts.

I find that difficult to believe since CJ Roberts wrote the opinion on AID v. Alliance for Open Society International

In defense of Justice Roberts, from the NY Times today.

Justice Roberts Plays the Long Game

"Chief Justice Roberts has proved adept at persuading the court’s more liberal justices to join compromise opinions, allowing him to cite their concessions years later as the basis for closely divided and deeply polarizing conservative victories. "

Hugh Hewitt, who worked in an office with CJ Roberts for a year, concurs. He interviewed Liptak today.

Post Obamacare, I hope we're not tilting at windmills.....don't think we are. Truth will out.

Yes, if this free exercise goes down the drain, we're sunk.

On the other side of the coin, what happens when the muzzies demand and get free exercise ?

I'll sleep on that one.

And yet their entire store is filled with goods from China.

Remember China?

I guess religion is cool and all only if the enemy is the USA and its workers.

I think Hobby Lobby is just trying to save money and not too concerned about the whole “religion” thing.

This whole contraceptive thing is so frustrating. Besides the religious aspect, why do they want to invoke the whole insurance bureaucracy to pay for condoms? A box of 100 is less than $20 on Amazon. A lot of places they just hand them out free. BC pills? $9 a month at Target. These costs are on the order of toothpaste, Q-Tips and stuff like that. Running it through insurance will drive up the cost by a factor of 10. But for some reason we could not embarrass the Dems by pointing out the piddly stuff they want to make more expensive by putting it under insurnace. I guess we get what we deserve.

Whatever happened to equal protection under the law? What about all the waivers? If “it’s” good for all of us why all the waivers?

I think Hobby Lobby is just trying to save money and not too concerned about the whole “religion” thing.

This Sunday afternoon why not go to a local Hobby Lobby Store and ask the manager. Then I think you'll have your answer. Unfortunately trying to avoid China produced goods even in food stores has become difficult.

Until our government stops regulating and taxing to death manufacturing here in the U.S. and until it raises tariffs on China goods we will see no improvement. Hobby Lobby took a stand against this administration many much larger corporations and even churches simply would not.

RE :”Judge bars Obamacare contraceptive requirement for a Christian-owned business”

This is the way it had to be played out.

The GOP deciding to take a stand on what appeared to be against birth control (contraceptives) in a major election year 2012 against public opinion and w zero support from the Catholic church was suicidal and accomplished zero.

Let the court case play out and lets see where it goes. Hopefully this will have legs.
