Trayvon Martin’s Stepmother Speaks Out: I Don’t Think Zimmerman ‘Picked Him Out Because He Was Black’

Alicia Stanley, Trayvon Martin‘s stepmother, sat down last night for an emotional interview with Anderson Cooper. Stanley opened up about the 14 years she spent raising Martin with his father and how it’s been hard for her to watch George Zimmerman‘s trial and hear all the things people have been saying about the night that her son died. She told Cooper that while she is convinced of Zimmerman’s guilt, she does not personally believe that he picked her son out because he was black.

SNIP

She became emotional again when talking about losing a child she raised for most of his life, and described how painful it was to not be able to sit in the front row at Martin’s funeral. She told Cooper that it would be “heartbreaking” and “unbelievable” if Zimmerman is found not guilty.

I totally agree with you. The more I think about it, the more clear it becomes that anything and everything that happened before Martin started beating on Zimmerman is irrelevant to this case. Zimmerman was getting beaten to death and he had the right to protect himself with deadly force. Period!!!

Let’s assume that Zimmerman was being an ass and an over-bearing ‘know-it-all-in-your-face-cop-want-to-be neighborhood Watch guy.’ Let’s even assume Zimmerman talked down to Trayvon in offensive language....just for the sake of argument. Heck, we can even assume Zimmerman was a racist.....just throw it all in there because none of it matters.

What matters was that Trayvon Martin had no right to take Zimmermans life and therefore Zimmerman had every right to defend himself against the lethal attack.

The defenses problem in all of this is that it was Zimmermans actions that started the entire situation going. There is no doubt about this and it plays very well politically and emotionally and might be what sways the jury. Still, take away the race element, and what are you left with?....a guy defending his life against another guy who was hell bent on taking it from him. Case closed.

So ALL they really want is for Zimmerman to be found “guilty”?? GM’s being found guilty is the ONLY thing that will “restore the balance” for what this trial is REALLY all about-—the exonoration of Trayvon Martin as someone who did all in his power to engineer his own death. THAT is what it’s really all about, and GM then becomes the fall guy, and the only obstacle for family and the “black community” to feel “good” about this whole tragedy, and make someone “pay”.

The only thing Zimmerman is guilty of is he was trying to save his own life, while your thug son was trying to bash Z’s head in..

Just remember, folks: the goal of the Circus in Sanford is to get both the Florida Stand Your Ground law and the Castle Doctrine struck down.

That creates court precedent for Leftist activists to get similar laws in other states stricken from the books.

End Result? Citizens cannot defend themselves when the Gibsmedats come boiling out of the urban kraals.

Back-door Gun Control, legislated from the bench. That’s all there ever is or was to this case. Striking terror into Whitey's heart is just a twofer.

The James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies has sort of become a primer for today's "journalism." Why wait around for things to happen when you can make them happen yourself?

My thoughts EXACTLY.

Dirty Laundry by Don Henley

I make my living off the Evening News
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em all around

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam In her eye
It's interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You don't really need to find out what's going on
You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough love
Eat your dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry

We can do "The Innuendo"
We can dance and sing
When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing
We all know that Crap is King
Give us dirty laundry!

And yet she still can’t see the forest through the trees — and wants Zimmerman found guilty.

Black unemployment is higher now than under George Bush. Black wages are down. Black home ownership lower than under Bush. Yet they voted for Obama, again. What does that tell you? Magical thinking.

Crazy behavior is doing the same thing you have always done and expecting it to turn out differently this time.

I you have not seen it, please look at this Zimmerman Reenactment.mpeg and tell which of Zimmerman's actions "started the entire situation."

She isn’t. She said she isn’t following the trial.

I feel for this woman. After listening to this interview, I think she honestly made an effort to raise Trayvon well. I think she saw his good side. And I’m prepared to admit that Trayvon Martin probably did have a good side.

If he hadn’t been a young fool, he MIGHT have eventually made it through the stupid stage and turned out to be a decent adult. It has happened with a lot of other young men.

Unfortunately, that’s not what happened in this case.

I think she was a bit out of touch, as well, as to the turn that Trayvon was starting to take. In her eyes, Trayvon was her son, a nice kid, and would not have attacked Zimmerman unless in self-defense.

The thing is, there’s no physical evidence to support her belief that Zimmerman initiated the physical attack. And from all accounts of Zimmerman, such a scenario just doesn’t seem credible.

Nor does it seem credible, given the account of Trayvon Marton on top of Zimmerman, raining down blows on him, MMA-style.

In spite of Ms. Stanley’s belief in her stepson, there are obviously things she didn’t know about Trayvon. Such as never having heard him use language like “cracker.”

She didn’t know he would use such a term. That was outside of her experience with him.

And yet she still believes he wouldn’t initiate the attack on Zimmerman, in spite of the fact that he is known to have done something else in that incident that would’ve surprised her.

“Kids gonna be kids.” Well, there comes a time when kids have to suffer the consequences of their actions. Sometimes those consequences are more serious than they calculated.

And that certainly seems to have been what happened to Trayvon Martin.

I do think Ms. Stanley also got shafted at the funeral.

In every way, Ms. Stanley has my sympathy.

And so does George Zimmerman.

Well, that’s pretty bad alright, but I was thinking more along the lines of buildings riddled with bullet holes and RPG damage.

I keep hearing how he shouldn’t have shot him because getting his head bashed in wasn’t life threatening. So with this logic he could only shot at him to protect himself until he himself was dead?

When you are in that situation, I’m sure you are not sure if you are going to live or die.

Liberal “logic.” There is no greater sin in the leftist mind than self-reliance. Successfully defending yourself from a murderous assault is a prime example. Given how out of control Martin was and the path he seemed to be heading down in life, Zimmerman probably saved more lives than just his own that night.

The breakdown of the family, and the resulting chaos in children’s lives, is responsible for many of the pathologies in society today.

Stepmother??

Exactly. Who the heck is this person? I've never heard of a stepmother. And this bs about No Limit N--- never using words like ass cracker is totally a lie from his FB and tweets. If anyone was picking a victim, it was No Limit N--- otherwise he would have gone straight home rather than back tracking on Zimmerman.
